LONDON UNDERGROUND BOMBING 'EXERCISES' :.

LONDON UNDERGROUND BOMBING 'EXERCISES' TOOK PLACE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE REAL ATTACK!!!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!

On a BBC Radio 5 interview that aired on the evening of the 7th, the host interviewed Peter Power, Managing Director of Visor Consultants, which bills itself as a 'crisis management' advice company, better known to you and I as a PR firm.

Peter Power was a former Scotland Yard official, working at one time with the Anti Terrorist Branch.

Power told the host that at the exact same time that the London bombings were taking place, his company was running a 1,000 person strong exercise which drilled the London Underground being bombed at the exact same locations, at the exact same times, as happened in real life.

I know that there is a lot of very serious news breaking right now, but I wanted to let all of you know that Becky and I got our small farm in New Zealand. The negotiations went back and forth a few times, but the seller finally let us have it. He took what really was our final offer.

Israeli Officials Told Not to Give Interviews Regarding London Bombs :.

Yeah...

The Prime Minister's Office instructed Israeli officials not to give interviews to the foreign media Thursday on the London bombings.

After 9/11, Israel made some effort on international TV to impress upon the world that global terror and terror against Israelis were a common cause.

On Thursday, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and Finance Minister Binyamin Netanhayu conveyed similar messages, but only to the Hebrew-language media.

In the international arena this time the message was the following: "It's not a story with anything to do with Israel. It's a story of international terrorism in Britain and therefore we should be quiet," according to a government source.

UK Plans Iraq Troop Withdrawal :.

BOOM!

The Ministry of Defence has drafted plans for a significant withdrawal of British troops from Iraq over the next 18 months and a big deployment to Afghanistan, the Financial Times has learnt.

In what would represent the biggest operational shake-up involving the armed forces since the Iraq war, the first stage of a run-down in military operations is likely to take place this autumn with a handover of security to Iraqis in at least two southern provinces.

Sex, Drugs, Mind Control, and Gitmo :.

BOOM!

Many of the revelations in the New Yorker article ("The Experiment," by Jane Mayer, July 11 & 18, 2005 -- not yet available online, but here's an interview with the author) are familiar, but there are hints of techniques that mirror the most horrific (and mostly ignored) abuses at Abu Ghraib and the historical accounts of government-sponsored mind control. Baher Azmy, a professor at Seton Hall Law School who is representing one detainee states in the article, "The whole place appears to be one giant human experiment."

The people behind these psychological abuses and experiments are known as Behavioral Science Consultation Teams, or BSCTs (commonly called "biscuits"). Originally, BSCTs served as therapists and dispensed psychotropic drugs to soldiers, and evaluated their combat readiness. Post 9/11, however, their mission was altered -- instead of helping soldiers, their talents were turned to interrogation and psychological torture under the umbrella of military intelligence.

Karl Rove Might Be Indicted :.

BOOM!

All the judges who have seen the prosecutor's secret evidence firmly believe he is pursuing a very serious crime, and they have done everything they can to help him get an indictment.

Statement from Jamaat al-Tandheem Al-Sierri :.

One of my classmates from college (who also happens to be the wife of a lifelong friend of mine) is fluent in Italian. She said she would send a word-for-word English translation of the La Repubblica article referenced below, but I'll go with her initial email for the moment:

I thought you might be interested in this quote from La Repubblica, a very reliable Italian news source.
"14:33 La rivendicazione, a nome di Al Qaeda, degli attentati di oggi a Londra, pubblicata sul sito internet "elqual3ah.com" ritenuta inattendibile da fonti di intelligence italiana, che sottolineano, tra l'altro, "errori in alcune parole arabe", precisando che anche un sito vicino al fondamentalismo islamico ha invitato a non dar credito alla rivendicazione."
It basically states that at the present time, Italian intelligence has stated that based on several misspellings and misuse of several Arabic words, the info on the website: elqual3ah.com cannot be considered credible at this time.

UPDATE: Literal Translation:

"The claim, in the name of Al Qaeda, regarding today's attack in London, published on the elqual3ah.com website, is not considered credible by Italian intelligence sources, who point out, among other inaccuracies, "errors in certain arabic words", specifying that even an islamic fundamentalist website has stated that credit should not be given to this claim."

More: MSNBC Has Doubts :.

But MSNBC TV translator Jacob Keryakes, who said that a copy of the message was later posted on a secular Web site, noted that the claim of responsibility contained an error in one of the Quranic verses it cited. That suggests that the claim may be phony, he said.

"This is not something al-Qaida would do," he said.

Netanyahu Changed Plans Due to Warning :.

BOOM!

By AMY TEIBEL, Associated Press Writer Thu Jul 7, 7:14 AM ET

British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before Thursday's explosions that they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said.

Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to attend an economic conference in a hotel over the subway stop where one of the blasts occurred, and the warning prompted him to stay in his hotel room instead, government officials said.

Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said he wasn't aware of any Israeli casualties.

Just before the blasts, Scotland Yard called the security officer at the Israeli Embassy to say they had received warnings of possible attacks, the official said. He did not say whether British police made any link to the economic conference.

MULTIPLE EXPLOSIONS ROCK LONDON :.

Near simultaneous explosions rocked the London Underground network and at least one bus at the morning rush hour, police said, causing fatalities and prompting officials to shut down the entire underground transport network.

Indonesians Queued at Gas Stations :.

Indonesians queued for hours at gas stations across the country Thursday as fuel shortages began to bite amid calls by the president not to panic in the face of what he called an "energy crisis."

With global oil prices at record highs, state-owned oil company Pertamina has been unable to meet the soaring demand for fuel sparked by a strong economic recovery in Indonesia.

Long lines occurred at stations in many towns across the archipelago Thursday, local TV footage showed, with some reports saying the price of premium gasoline had spiked by 500 percent.

"I call on all people, please don't panic...because we will fulfill the people's fuel consumption (needs) while we search for the formula to solve the energy crisis," President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said late Wednesday.

Other government ministers have called for fuel reduction measures, but it is unclear how they will be enforced.

Saudis: OPEC Can't Meet West's Oil Demand :.

The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will be unable to meet projected western demand in 10 to 15 years, Saudi officials have warned.

At today's prices, the world will need the cartel to boost its production from 30m to 50m barrels a day to 50m by 2020 to meet rapidly rising demand, according to the International Energy Agency, the energy watchdog for consuming countries.

But senior Saudi energy officials have privately warned US and European counterparts that Opec would have an “extremely difficult time” meeting that demand. Saudi Arabia calculates there is a 4.5m b/d gap between what the world needs and what the kingdom can provide.

How About That Oil? :.

U.S. stocks slid on Wednesday as crude prices flew to a record high above $61 a barrel, fueled by fears that two tropical storms would pinch supply.

The surge in oil prices capped a three-day run that drove NYMEX August crude futures up to settle at $61.28 a barrel -- up nearly $5, or more than 8 percent since June 30.

Computers Simulate Terror Attacks :.

Matrix mock-up?

Deep inside the cave-like laboratories of the legendary research center that created the atomic bomb, scientists have begun work on a Manhattan Project of a different sort.

In the wake of Sept. 11, 2001, they have been constructing the most elaborate computer models of the United States ever attempted. There are virtual cities inhabited by millions of virtual individuals who go to work, shopping centers, soccer games and anywhere else their real life counterparts go. And there are virtual power grids, oil and gas lines, water pipelines, airplane and train systems, even a virtual Internet.

Britain's Decent into Fascism, Soviet Style :.

THE news that the Government is considering compulsory voting reminds me of a comment made by the late Ipswich MP Jamie Cann.

He said: "I dislike almost everything that Tony Blair has done to the Labour Party but as a former Stalinist I'm very impressed by the way he's done it."

The revelation by Leader of the Commons Geoff Hoon yesterday that the Government is looking at fining people who don't vote is very reminiscent of the old Soviet Bloc.

Lunatic Ramblings: Paul Harvey Calls for Genocide to Fight War on Terror :.

In comments broadcast to over 18 million listeners, Harvey stated the following....

Once upon a time, we elbowed our way onto and into this continent by giving small pox infected blankets to native Americans.

Yes, that was biological warfare!

And we used every other weapon we could get our hands on to grab this land from whomever. And we grew prosperous.

And, yes, we greased the skids with the sweat of slaves.

And so it goes with most nation states, which, feeling guilty about their savage pasts, eventually civilize themselves out of business and wind up invaded, and ultimately dominated by the lean, hungry and up and coming who are not made of sugar candy.

Madmen Create GM Trees to Battle Global Warming :.

I was trying to think of some commentary for this article when I realized I'd already written it. From, Crisis: Honey Bee Population Disappearing:
One of the most likely nightmare scenarios, in my opinion, is that the system remains functional long enough to destroy the environment to the point where human survival ISN'T possible without increasingly heroic uses of high technology. Regardless of what you think about my religious/spiritual belief system, I do pray that TEOTWAWKI occurs before human survival on this planet is inextricably linked to high technology.
Don't worry, everything is under control:

Forget Cameras - Black Box Will Cut Drivers' Speed by Satellite :.

IT IS the ultimate back seat driver. Motorists face having their cars fitted with a "spy" device that stops speeding.

The satellite-based system will monitor the speed limit and apply the brakes or cut out the accelerator if the driver tries to exceed it. A government-funded trial has concluded that the scheme promotes safer driving.

Drivers in London could be among the first to have the "speed spy" devices fitted. They would be offered a discount on the congestion charge if they use the system.

Update: .MIL Proxy

I've never trusted anonymous proxies. No way. If I can set up a box that is capable of logging everything that goes through it, what is .gov/.mil capable of doing?

Fred writes:
Hi,

Just wanting to share what I know about cacheserver.wbamc.amedd.army.mil (192.138.52.41)...

I run [Deleted for Fred's Protection], and that IP was just used in the last 10 minutes to run an attempt to exploit a hole in one of my web pages (an old version of the FormMail script that I had "fixed" and thought was secure).

Based on the pattern of access, I believe the attempts are coming from someone in Saudi Arabia - or they may even be hiding behind layers of proxy servers. Someone has been trying to use that hole for several days to send spam to AOL users. I have since replaced the bad script with one that logs their attempts to relay through my server and emails me their IP and Proxy IP information :)

If you look up that IP in Google, you'll see it is listed in many of the lists of "open proxy" servers which are used for a variety of purposes - mostly things like hackers and spammers wanting to cover their tracks.

That means that either that server is misconfigured and the Army has a real security hole, or [more likely] that server is a "honey pot"... it is deliberately being left open and published in the open proxy lists in order to monitor what hackers are trying to do.

Of course, I saw your page because I Googled to try to find out why a .mil server was trying to relay spam through my broken script...

Fred
I'd believe it either way, Fred. I would tend to believe, however, that the .gov/.mil honeypots aren't found within official .gov/.mil IP ranges, but who knows?!

Someone should audit the big spam blacklists for IPs that belong to .gov/.mil. I would be very interested in the results of that study.

Fatal Harvest: The Tragedy of Industrial Agriculture by Andrew Kimbrell Readers will come to see that industrial food production is indeed a "fatal harvest" - fatal to consumers, as pesticide residues and new disease vectors such as E. coli and "mad cow disease" find their way into our food supply; fatal to our landscapes, as chemical runoff from factory farms poison our rivers and groundwater; fatal to genetic diversity, as farmers rely increasingly on high-yield monocultures and genetically engineered crops; and fatal to our farm communities, which are wiped out by huge corporate farms.

Friendly Fascism: The New Face of Power in America by Bertram Myron Gross This is a relatively short but extremely cogent and well-argued treatise on the rise of a form of fascistic thought and social politics in late 20th century America. Author Bertram Gross' thesis is quite straightforward; the power elite that comprises the corporate, governmental and military superstructure of the country is increasingly inclined to employ every element in their formidable arsenal of 'friendly persuasion' to win the hearts and minds of ordinary Americans through what Gross refers to as friendly fascism.

Silent Theft: The Private Plunder of Our Common Wealth by David Bollierd In Silent Theft, David Bollier argues that a great untold story of our time is the staggering privatization and abuse of our common wealth. Corporations are engaged in a relentless plunder of dozens of resources that we collectively own—publicly funded medical breakthroughs, software innovation, the airwaves, the public domain of creative works, and even the DNA of plants, animals and humans. Too often, however, our government turns a blind eye—or sometimes helps give away our assets. Amazingly, the silent theft of our shared wealth has gone largely unnoticed because we have lost our ability to see the commons.

The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It: The Complete Back-To-Basics Guide by John Seymour The Self Sufficient Life and How to Live It is the only book that teaches all the skills needed to live independently in harmony with the land harnessing natural forms of energy, raising crops and keeping livestock, preserving foodstuffs, making beer and wine, basketry, carpentry, weaving, and much more.

When Corporations Rule the World by David C. Korten When Corporations Rule the World explains how economic globalization has concentrated the power to govern in global corporations and financial markets and detached them from accountability to the human interest. It documents the devastating human and environmental consequences of the successful efforts of these corporations to reconstruct values and institutions everywhere on the planet to serve their own narrow ends.

The New Organic Grower: A Master's Manual of Tools and Techniques for the Home and Market Gardener This expansion of a now-classic guide originally published in 1989 is intended for the serious gardener or small-scale market farmer. It describes practical and sustainable ways of growing superb organic vegetables, with detailed coverage of scale and capital, marketing, livestock, the winter garden, soil fertility, weeds, and many other topics.
