Bill Gates: “We must make this the decade of vaccines”

Sure, Bill. Tell me another one. Oh, by the way, how are those flying syringes coming along?

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will donate $10 billion over the next decade to research new vaccines and bring them to the world’s poorest countries, the Microsoft co-founder and his wife said Friday.

Calling upon governments and business to also contribute, they said the money will produce higher immunization rates and aims to make sure that 90 percent of children are immunized against dangerous diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia in poorer nations.

“We must make this the decade of vaccines,” Bill Gates said in a statement. “Vaccines already save and improve millions of lives in developing countries. Innovation will make it possible to save more children than ever before.”

Gates said the commitment more than doubles the $4.5 billion the foundation has given to vaccine research over the years.

How about 10 billion for clean water and sanitation? Bet that would reduce illness a lot more than vaccine’s alone.

Daddy Gates also served on the board of Planned Parenthood.
    IBM enjoyed ww2 germany.
    Now a push for vaccines?
Gates is just too close to a lot of people who want to help the poor developing countries in rather unique ways.

I have no fundamental objections to certain vaccines, but what Gates is proposing is seriously problematic.

“Live” or “Attenuated” virus vaccines are a clear violation of “informed consent”. They spread from the patient who received the treatment to others, who may not want and certainly have not consented to any treatment. It is well established that in certain states of health, you should not take a vaccine because of the risks it poses. “Live” virus vaccines don’t allow for withholding of treatment from people in these conditions because they travel through the population, just the like the pathgenic version of the disease.

Further, “Live” virus vaccines can sometimes mutate and become pathogenic, causing the very disease which they are attempting to protect against. This happened with the Polio Vaccine in Nigeria and is believed to have happened elsewhere.

Finally, even if they were able to massively lower the rate of death from these diseases in 10 years time, there’s be a huge upswing in population which would impoverish the area even worse than it is now, because they wouldn’t have the agricultural, industrial, and other infrastructures needed to sustain the new higher population.
