Most people will be shocked to learn that in 1933 a cabal of wealthy industrialists—in league with groups like the K.K.K. and the American Liberty League—planned to overthrow the U.S. government in a fascist coup. Their plan was to turn discontented veterans into American “brown shirts,†depose F.D.R., and stop the New Deal. They clandestinely asked Medal of Honor recipient and Marine Major General Smedley Darlington Butler to become the first American Caesar. He, though, was a true patriot and revealed the plot to journalists and to Congress.

I think what Peter says might just be true. Seriously, if you’re planning a coup and you’re out shopping for a figurehead from the top brass of the military, you want to be very careful that you don’t approach someone who will pretend to agree with you so that he can learn your plans and then drop the proverbial dime on you. If your coup is for real, that is.
I’ve always considered the decapitation of the United States to be the assassination of President Kennedy. Readers of Cryptogon more than likely already know of the connections. I spent a while in the Caribbean and it is almost unanimous among the general population that Kennedy was the best US president ever. I believe that the average person of the world does see the intent of the NWO.
