Why We Don’t Have Viable Alternative Fuels and Electric Vehicles: Ask the Sheikh Who Flew His Lamborghini 6,500 Miles to Britain for an Oil Change

July 31st, 2008

If this is what the Sheihk spends on an oil change, I wonder how many politicians he owns, outright???

As the oil begins to run out, the alternative solutions that have existed for decades—and others—will emerge.

Of course, you’ll be tracked, traced and chipped to within an inch of your life, but, hey, that’s for our own good, or “the terrorists” hate our freedom, or something like that.

On a different note, I think that I’ve figured out why the Peak Oil religion excludes the basic realities of political corruption and the suppression of alternative energy technologies over the last century or so. “We’re running out of energy,” is a much easier meme for people to swallow than, “Psychopaths have us over a barrel.” The Peaknics love to blame, “geology.” That’s convenient, especially if you’re the Sheikh who likes to overnight his sports car across the world for an oil change, or some other crook who’s in on the scam.

You definitely don’t need me to figure this stuff out! As the walls of your prison cell close in on you, just ask yourself, “Who benefits from this?” In most cases, you can come up with names, stock symbols, web sites, etc. in a matter of minutes.

The we’re-just-running-out-of-oil argument is the grandest lie-by-omission that I’m currently aware of. Yes, the oil is running out. Why is it a crisis for most of us and the best thing that could have ever happened to a few elites? Why weren’t viable alternatives developed and deployed decades ago?

Geology?

“Geology” has nothing to do with the answers to either of those questions. (Ok, maybe it does, if you want to talk about resources that could have been developed, but weren’t, like geothermal.)

“Same as it ever was,” is much closer to the mark.

A RICH Arab sent his Lamborghini on a 6,500-mile round trip to Britain for a service.

The £190,000 supercar was put on a scheduled flight from Qatar to Heathrow – then flown BACK after the oil check.

Money was no object as the flight would have cost the owner – thought to be a Sheikh – around £20,000.

The overall cost of sending the Lamborghini to London for the oil change would have cost more than £23,000.

His black-and-gold supercar costs £3,552 to service at an approved dealer – on top of the £20,000 to freight from Qatar to Britain.

The Murciélago LP640 – driven by Batman in movie The Dark Knight – arrived from the Middle Eastern country on Friday.

It cleared customs and was trucked to specialist mechanics in London for the service.

On Monday it was flown back 3,250 miles to the oil-rich state where it was collected by the owner.
