Tesla: Master Plan, Part Deux

July 20th, 2016

Musk’s hopes and dreams may or may not happen, but I enjoyed reading this anyway. While some people out there seem to have full time jobs bashing Tesla, I think of Musk as a hero. There would be virtually no movement toward mass adoption of electric vehicles if it wasn’t for Tesla. Now, the whole industry is changing.

So, in short, Master Plan, Part Deux is:

Create stunning solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage
Expand the electric vehicle product line to address all major segments
Develop a self-driving capability that is 10X safer than manual via massive fleet learning
Enable your car to make money for you when you aren’t using it

The Prius made a significant dent in the market well before Tesla. Musk has added a cool factor, and is inspirational sure, but it is just really rich people buying them whereas more of the regular-ish Joes buy a Prius or a Focus or the Hyundai version.

The Prius runs mostly on an internal combustion engine. There is no comparison here. It’s apples and oranges. Maybe you meant the Nissan Leaf???

You obviously didn’t read the information at the link, but you should. In case you can’t be bothered, I’ll break it down for you quickly:

There would be no Model 3 without the Model S and Model X. There wouldn’t have been a Model S and Model X without the Roadster.

The production is going from very expensive, low volume cars to less expensive, high volume cars.
