It’s a shit sandwich all around in the general purpose computing world. It’s a very serious worry, because I see the least capable computer users (most computer users, in other words) fully embracing swipetard devices and operating systems, which are mainly intended to serve as tamper proof vending machines and surveillance platforms.

Fail.. Mac has increasingly moved towards turning their main operating system into a clone of their portable, this is also happening with Windows 10. There is such a thing as too simple, they are stripping away basic functionality, headphones, USB, and converting everything to their proprietary dongle specific ports. ($$$)

I can’t imagine Steve Jobs being behind this if he was alive, Cook seems to be taking advantage of the Apple reputation + name and using it to sell cheaper, shoddier products. Using refurbished motherboards, cheaper parts, gluing pieces together that weren’t before, easily scratch-able laptop screens (the retina display coating material is very fragile, on desktops and notebooks). I stopped buying Apple when Jobs died, his design extended for one more product generation.

    There’s an old Windows/Linux joke,
    Q. How do you upgrade a Mac? A. You buy a new computer.
