U.S. Navy Sends Third Carrier to 5th Fleet Region

July 10th, 2007

This information broke a couple of weeks ago on some sites that I wouldn’t admit to reading. I couldn’t confirm it back then, so I didn’t post it.

Well…

Via: Reuters / Yahoo:

The U.S. navy has sent a third aircraft carrier to its Fifth Fleet area of operations, which includes Gulf waters close to Iran, the navy said on Tuesday.

“Enterprise (aircraft carrier) provides navy power to counter the assertive, disruptive and coercive behaviour of some countries, as well as support our soldiers and marines in Iraq and Afghanistan,” a U.S. Navy statement said.

The move comes weeks after a flotilla of U.S. warships sailed through the narrowest point in the Gulf to hold exercises off Iran’s coast in a major show of force.

Tension over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions has raised regional fears of a military confrontation. Recent U.S. naval presence in the Gulf has been the largest since the 2003 Iraq war.

The Fifth Fleet area of operations includes the Arabian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Oman and parts of the Indian Ocean.

I think I know what kind of website you mean: The kind run by Alex Jones and his ilk.

  2. What sites would you never admit to reading?

    Fox News?

    CNN?

    Rigorous Intuition?

Is there anything such as a reliable source in this day and age?

    Seriously though, I’m curious.

  3. Can you give me a hint as to why you posted it under false flag operations? I’m curious – it seems like the navy spokesman’s words are a whole lot more brusk than usual – and this time there is no denying there will be 3 carrier groups stationed there, not just an extra to replace another.
My radar is up – been feeling odd about disjointed chatter from a bunch of areas.

@ Loveandlight, Alex Jones & his Ilk?

It really is a war for your mind, don’t ya know?

I don’t agree with everything he says about immigration (more to the point, his tone verges on rascist, but not his words that I’ve seen), but he’s spot on about the whole “Rise of the Poice State”.

Yep. My spidey-sense has been tingling, too. Big time.

I believe the “story” was first “broken” by the IDF propaganda site, http://www.debka.com almost 3 weeks ago. I will admit to reading the site as there is information (of a sort) in knowing what the propagandists are telling their readers. Of course the original report did not mention that the ship was idle in the US and suggested that the Enterprise would be in the Persian Gulf imminently (like last June 25th) creating a three carrier flotilla. In reality, the ship has just departed Norfolk, VA and will take at least a couple of weeks to get on station.

In fact, anonymous US defence sources state they are planning to REDUCE the naval force in the region:

“Ships currently in the region are the USS John C. Stennis and USS Nimitz, and both are expected to leave soon. The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise left Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia over the weekend to head to the area and will replace one of the carriers, the U.S. 5th Fleet announced Tuesday.

As plans stand now, the Enterprise would be alone in the region for roughly three months because the USS Harry S. Truman isn’t scheduled to deploy until the fall, two officials said.”

Add in the following small hints –
    1) US selective service draft processing centers have quietly been made operational over the last 24 months.

    2) US Army personnel in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve, a roster of service personnel who have already been released from active duty and/or the reserves, but remain on “call back”, just in case) are being called up by the thousands. A backdoor draft is being conducted. Both ‘Stars and Stripes’ (the US military’s own newpaper) and ‘Military Affairs’ confirm it.
