Mexico: A Nation-State Dissolves?

July 15th, 2007

Via: The Oil Drum:

The collapse of the Mexican Nation-State will have serious, negative impacts on global oil markets, on the US economy, and on xenophobia and anti-immigrant sentiment in the US, not to mention its impacts inside Mexico. It might not happen in 2007—and it certainly won’t occur in one sudden “bang” that can be easily marked on a date in history—but the process is already well under way.

Jeff Vail’s The New Map forms the basis for some of his ideas in that article… worth checking out http://www.jeffvail.net/thenewmap.pdf

The Mexican gov’t has a history of failure. If it fails now, the NeoCons will simply move in to run things. No problems. They already run this country.

Valid assessment but, I believe it to be part of the plan [SPP,NAU].Intentional made to look otherwise.

The timing of this with the Amnesty Immigration bill can’t be a coincidence. Look for a mass-migration north…

Nationalism among Mexican citizens is so strong that Mexico will never dissolve as a nation and as a people. The leadership of Mexico is already “in the fold” of the international order, and a governmental collapse in that country is not necessary in order to maximize profits. Mexico is a stable fascist state that will last for a long, long time.
