1,000 Drive Through Flu Shots to be Given in 3 Hours for Terrorism Drill

Chandler health officials are asking residents to roll down their car windows and roll up their sleeves for an emergency terrorism drill that will test the efficiency of mass drive-through vaccinations.
The first drill of it’s kind at Chandler Regional Medical Center will involve 100 hospital personnel administering flu vaccines to adults through car windows, said Kimberly Day, a spokeswoman for Chandler Regional Medical Center.
The incentive for patients: free flu vaccines. The goal for health officials: give 1,000 shots in three hours to simulate the need for a mass vaccination in the event of a bio-terrorism attack or naturally-caused outbreak.
“Every city state and county government has an emergency operations plan,” said said Kerry Cassens, a registered nurse with occupational health with the city. “This is a partnership with Chandler Regional and the city to test our ability to respond should there be a need for mass vaccination.”
The Oct. 27 flu drill will follow the largest ever nationwide terrorism drill based at Chandler’s Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort next week, but the “drive-flu” event is separate from the federal authorities’ drill, Cassens said.
The first 1,000 people to enter the vaccine drill will receive free flu vaccines, officials said. Participants age 18 and up can pull into a six-lane drive-through, open the car door or window and fill out a consent form while waiting in line, Cassens said. Then they’ll drive up to a nurse and receive a shot in the arm.

Holy christ, I live like 15 minutes away from that scene. Chandler, AZ is a nightmare – Kevin, it’s just like Irvine, CA. Mile after mike of chain stores, office buildings, & McMansions built two feet apart from one another. The emergency people are just out of something to do and there is no threat, however, they should realize how similar this looks to the Jonestown ritual.

Fewer than 200 people worldwide have died of bird flu over several years. More people than that die every day in car crashes. As for bioterrorism, total deaths from the anthrax were a small handful. Why all the drama about a minimal problem? Something is rotten.
Miraculix, you are 100% right! Even before the thimerosol scandal, there was a wealth of material showing that vaccines are statistically more likely to cause serious complications or death than the diseases they are intended to prevent. The pertussis vaccine is a particularly dangerous one.

Perhaps the creepiest thing about this story is that a vaccine-related polio outbreak was completely predictable in these circumstances.
It is VERY well known that the live oral polio vaccine mutates in the gut, often into a more virulent form. It is VERY well known that, for this reason, the vaccinated population is a real threat to the unvaccinated population.
Polio is spread mostly through contaminated water supplies, so it’s more or less inevitable that, in a country without modern sanitation infrastructure, the mutated polio from the feces of the vaccinated population would find its way into the water supply–or the ditches and puddles that children like to play in.
There have been cases of unvaccinated adults in the US getting polio from their vaccinated children by changing diapers and such.
The people promoting the vaccines in Nigeria KNEW they couldn’t vaccinate everyone, from the get-go. They KNEW they were putting the unvaccinated population at risk. Anyone with the smallest familiarity with the oral polio vaccine KNOWS this stuff.
Interestingly, if they were determined to vaccinate, the risk could have easily been avoided by administering the Salk vaccine, instead of the live oral vaccine.
This is why people in Africa are suspicious of Western medicine and believe it’s a form of genocide against Africans: It is.
The people who planned and executed the oral polio vaccine program in Nigeria should be tried for murder. They cannot possibly make a plausible claim that the outcome wasn’t entirely foreseeable.
On a related subject, back when I decided to have my children at home, I read up on home birth versus hospital birth. A book called “Special Delivery” cited statistics showing that the likelihood of injury or death to both the mother and the infant is MANY times higher with a hospital birth than with a planned home birth.
I can’t remember the exact figures, but it seems like the infant was about 10 times more likely to suffer injury or death in a hospital birth, and the mother about 20 times more likely to suffer injury or death.
The figures are probably out of date (it’s probably much worse now), but it sure gives you something to think about.
I do want to say that I wouldn’t try to influence a woman who wasn’t comfortable with home birth to go this route. First-time moms, especially, would probably find it too scary.
After you’ve had one or more kids in the hospital, you know about scary–and about degrading and dehumanizing, as well. You also will have the opportunity to notice that the f*****s don’t DO anything but stand around and wait for the baby to be born, anyway–while making you as uncomfortable and irritated as possible, by pretending to do something.
One thing they ARE doing is giving you pitocin, or some other drug to speed up the contractions, and putting it in the IV, because you are supposed to think you’re having a natural childbirth, and they don’t want to let the cat out of the bag.
Drugs to speed the contractions cause much harder and much more painful contractions than is natural. So what you get is a very painful birth experience whose only advantage is that it conforms to the hospital’s schedule, and lets your doctor get back to the golf course.
I can tell you from experience that a home birth is much less painful than a hospital birth. When the subject of childbirth comes up among your women friends, you will be gushing about your joyful birthing experience, while your friends are turning white and nearly passing out from horror, at the memory of their birth experiences.
