U.S. Health Care Open Thread

March 22nd, 2010

Let it rip, if you feel the need.

Via: Bloomberg:

The U.S. House passed the most sweeping health-care legislation in four decades, rewriting the rules governing medical industries and ensuring that tens of millions of uninsured Americans will get medical coverage.

Sadly, what’s entirely glossed over in the vast statistical parade of back-and-forth “consensus building” is that none of this qualifies as actual “health” care.

The vast profit-generating system in question is driven entirely by keeping people dependent upon ineffectual advice and destructive pharma.

The gigantic revenue streams keeping the monstrous edifice standing ala Barad Dur are the only item on the agenda truly being protected.

As ever, the arguments in play have little to do with physical reality and everything to do with political grandstanding, social control and economic pillage and plunder.

The medical system serves only two honorable ends: emergency and trauma care. Keeping people alive so that the body can get to healing itself. There isn’t a pill or a physician in the world that can heal.

Once you realize this simple truth, rather like Kevin’s clear-headed perspective on the radicalizing nature of the food discussion, you find yourself completely off the reservation in relation to discussing the subject with those still suckling the western media teat.

Or even more likely, entirely off the media map used to manage the movement of opinion.

“Health” is achieved not via pseudo-religious industrial dogma channeled through the latest generation of white-shrouded officialdom to consider themselves Gods.

It is only achievable through the careful application of self-knowledge earned by earnest study of as much wisdom as you can find outside the bounds of mainstream western thought.

The whole situation feels much like that eerily prescient old sci-fi film Logan’s Run. The feudal overlords and their media lackeys have everyone in the arena screaming “Renew! Renew! Renew!” as everyone nonetheless explodes on their 30th birthday, while the renegades outside the domed cities are living to a ripe old age without the benefit of all the “modern” technology.

Dennis Kucinich’s caving in to this thing was, as far as I know, his turning point. I can imagine there’s other earlier Kucinich news preshadowing this event, but for me, this was a bit surprising. So much for whatever I may have hoped from him.

This thing is nothing to celebrate, that’s for sure.

Beyond Kucinich’s vote, what really surprises me are those on ‘the left’ whom wish to send Nancy Pelosi flowers for herding it through.
