California Fires: Arson
October 25th, 2007I’m waiting to hear that bin Laden himself did it. Swooping low over the bone dry death trap of Southern California, with his magic carpet, and his Zippo of mass destruction.
Film at 11.
Via: CBS:
CBS News has learned a task force of agencies, including the FBI, ATF, the Orange County Fire Authority and the California Department of Forestry will announce shortly that the massive Santiago Canyon Fire – which has caused an estimated $10 million in damage – is being officially declared an arson, and a $50,000 reward is being offered to find the arsonist.
Investigators have identified two separate “points of origin” where they believe the fire was set, CBS News has learned. FBI agents secured the scene to “maintain its integrity.”

If it was arson, then it could of been worse I think. I haven’t heard of any damage being done to the grape fields, that would really hurt the local economy.
Kevin –
Well, you’re obviously either a Fox Noise mole or an al qaeda mole… Or else you’ve just been paying attention & see Their gameplan:
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Fox_advances_theory_that_CA_fires_1024.html
“Ill-informed Fox anchors spread fears of al Qaeda link to California fires
Questionable 4-year-old FBI memo presented as new to stoke terror fears
Did al Qaeda start the California wildfires?
As more than a million people escaped the flames, Fox News anchors couldn’t help speculating about a terrorism link to the blazes ravaging southern California.
. . . . .
Later Wednesday, Fox anchors returned to fanning the terror fears, digging up a four-year-old FBI memo and presenting it as new information relating to an al Qaeda link to the fires.”
Soooo – which is it, Kevin???
😀
(p.s. – I don’t know whether you like people using html in your Comments… so I didn’t.)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh sure!
Nothing about the flying carpet and the Zippo of mass destruction. I must be slipping.
In Galicia, NW Spain something like 80,000 hectares were burnt last year, all caused by arson. The purpose was to clear forests for property developement. The government however banned change of land use for 25 years. Not a single house was lost as most of the land was forest.
Not so in California. What struck me most was a reporter happily showing us his house in flames!
Most “normal” people would be devastated.
I suppose he must have had it nicely insured.
Hmm….what better way to realise your properties worth in a depressed, crashing, unsellable market – just torch it and collect on the insurance, brilliant!
Doesn’t sound too much like al qaeda or are they now trying to help the US economy?
You know you’re living in bizarre times when even whimsical kidding becomes serious prognostication. 🙂
Seriously, sometimes I see straight news and I assume it’s the Onion. Nope. It’s real.
Real…
Time was when I considered Fox just a small step below the Onion – a joke, but an unintentional joke. Which made it even funnier – “Ha ha, look at those dipwads, they never quit”…
When I started noticing how many Heartlanders took them as gospel, I started getting nervous.
Now I’m starting to see people in my own little slice of Suburbiaville taking them seriously, and I’m starting to freak.
I’m beginning to see that we won’t even have time to hunker down & try to survive Peak Anything; those asshats and their political pimps are going to get us obliterated.
