Ron Paul: American Traveler Dignity Act
November 19th, 2010Via: Ron Paul:
My legislation is simple. It establishes that airport security screeners are not immune from any US law regarding physical contact with another person, making images of another person, or causing physical harm through the use of radiation-emitting machinery on another person. It means they are subject to the same laws as the rest of us.
Imagine if the political elites in our country were forced to endure the same conditions at the airport as business travelers, families, senior citizens, and the rest of us. Perhaps this problem could be quickly resolved if every cabinet secretary, every member of Congress, and every department head in the Obama administration were forced to submit to the same degrading screening process as the people who pay their salaries.

mmm hmmmm….
sounds good and all, but Ron Paul never gets any of his legislation past committee so getting all excited about him standing up for your rights is kind of a non-starter….I think he is kept around as a show-piece more than anything, to give you the impression there is someone at the controls who actually gives two shits about you (too bad about those other 600 + who could give a fuck less….)
@ronjondoe
Yes, I can understand your cynicism. But the pilots are being answered to, at least per NPR news today where the pilots at least, have WON and will not go through this scanning.
You also, at least I think under-guesstimate the power of Ron Paul.
He might not get his legislation passed, but at least he has the balls to say what he thinks. Thats more than most. I have the utmost respect for the man.
And yeah verily, there are all those other elected officials, that today, are quaking and shaking in their shoes and don’t have the courage to speak out because of the fact that they don’t know as yet who their masters are by face and name.
They will know shortly. And they will not be happy campers and will wish they had never run for office and then had won.
I can hear them singing the blues already now.
Ron Paul certainly is an enigma. I use to wonder how on earth is this guy “allowed”. Then I heard a reasonable explanation: Ron Paul is a Medical Doctor who has delivered thousands of babies – probably most of his constituency – how’s that for a way to acquire devoted voters – better than money.
