Egypt’s Top ‘Facebook Revolutionary’ Now Advising Occupy Wall Street

One of the key activists behind Egypt’s “Facebook Revolution” is now giving advice to a new group of protesters: the Occupy Wall Street movement.
The protesters in New York’s Zuccotti Park — and their offshoots around the country — often cite the mass demonstrations earlier this year in Cairo’s Tahrir Square as their inspiration. So maybe it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that Ahmed Maher, one of the leading figures in those Egyptian protests, has been corresponding for weeks with the Occupy Wall Streeters, whom he calls “our brothers.”
Maher is one of the founders of the April 6 Youth, which used Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to galvanize Egyptians against President Hosni Mubarak. Recently, however, his attention has turned toward America, where he’s been chatting online with Occupy activists. Those conversations center around practical advice from a successful Egyptian revolutionary. Usually, they occur through Facebook. On Tuesday, for the first time, they happened face to face.

The joy of a totally fake early colour revolution for the US?
Gets everybody who can still think out on the web, easy to spot, easy to track, easy to trip up at a later date.
Mix in same mid level lawyer, bank issue and a new political vision to clean up and save the day 🙂

The only problem is the US middle class – if some local issue spins up and they sit up. Their is no round table exit for so many in the US. Officials are elected and they have to face their communities home movies, not just slip away to a good pension or new faceless “west” German private security job.
The days of one big smuggled in video camera been moved around the top of an East German tower block getting one vision out the tame world press is over.
Too many cheap cameras this time, real smart lawyers, good outside pathologists (sealed coffins), very rich middle class people with parents with the time to find experts to bring to court. What to tell the court about that day 30 months ago .. and that sharp, clear 1080p video in stereo that pops up just in time for local elections.
