It’s summer! Time to head to the pool and the beach—with a bajillion other people. Here is a sample of what are apparently swimming spots in China.

If one person peed in that pool, ever other bather would come out wearing piss stains.
You know that’s not that far off from what some American waterparks look like on a busy summer day. I braved going to Hershey Park this summer, and while it wasn’t quite as packed as some of those photos, it was pretty damn close.
Here’s a picture of the wave pool, when I went there was even more people in it:

Granted I didn’t go in, stuck to waiting in hour long lines to go down a waterslide. I’m sure if the culture here was a bit different and people like me felt comfortable standing like sardines we could have filled the pool up to China standards.
This pictorial is not about swimming which is having the space to do some freaking body movements as you chose, such as in swimming laps. This to me looks like a lot of people sitting in a hot kettle of water that don’t have the sense to get out of it before they start to boil.
I could never survive in that pool for several reasons. For one, it would have to be dosed with megatons of chlorine to kill germs, but the chlorine would send me into shock re chemical reaction.
Thus, I avoid chlorinated pools at all costs.
Maybe, and hopefully, these folks in the pool are AOK with each other and don’t get sick hanging out with so many other humans.
Golly, it is kind of scary to see so many humans “hanging out.” How many more are at home alone? Yikes.
