Barclays Libor Case to Go to Trial

Barclays became the first bank to be ordered to stand trial in a British court over damages stemming from manipulation of the Libor interest rate after a High Court ruling on Monday.
Guardian Care Homes, a residential care home operator based in Wolverhampton, is suing Barclays for up to 37 million pounds ($59 million) over the alleged mis-selling of interest rate hedging products known as swaps.
“Today is a huge milestone with a trial now going forward to determine whether these financial products should be declared void,” Guardian Care Homes’ chief executive Gary Hartland said after the ruling.
The case could also lead to new revelations about the Libor scandal after Guardian Care Homes asked for documents relating to the affair to be disclosed.

Full disclosure, I am voting for Obama despite all the negatives (clandestine activities and spying, etc) becauase I perceive him as not having an itchy trigger finger. I don’t think he wants more wars unless they are of the clandestine type. Given a choice, I’d rather have someone who gazes at their navel for at least for five seconds before they launch another massive military war. Ask the vets who are full of depleted uranium in their bloodstreams and bones as to what they’d prefer. Nobody wants more of that shit, and certainly not going nuclear. Mitt is on heavy meds methinks and the sad thing is, I don’t think he knows that his great desire to fulfill his father’s dream has made him the perfect target for those whose dream is to have another Manchurian Candidate, aka the former Prez, George W. Bush. Amen.
