Firefox Classic Theme Restorer

April 29th, 2014

I wish Mozilla would stop pointlessly trying to change Firefox’s user interface. Change for the sake of change is retarded. If I wanted to use Chrome, I would. *groan* Anyway, Classic Theme Restorer goes a long way toward “fixing” the new Firefox.

Kevin, I totally agree with you: twiddling with the user interface is non-productive. Another way you can minimize the pain is run the Firefox ESR version (Extended Support Release). The ESR channel version just gets security updates, and is intended for an enterprise audience. I find it perfect for my purposes: minimal disruption.

The current ESR release is based on version 24.

Kevin, have you tried Pale Moon? I just downloaded and installed it. Much faster and I prefer the older Firefox interface too. Seems great so far — hope it’s a keeper.

I used to run Pale Moon years ago. Ironically, I think I stopped using it because the releases lagged way behind Firefox. haha. Maybe it’s time to go back.

I did manage to get Firefox looking “right” for me again. But I know it’s just a matter of time before Mozilla wrecks it again.
