    So does the NSA.

    This would include me.

    Have they explained if this means all of our spies, and the rosters of people in the various defense and military departments are all openly known?

    @Steve and Quintanus,

    Wish I could console you, but no. I cannot. I had my identity stolen through hackers re DOE last year and yes it was most upsetting to me. I got the “paid for service” that monitors my accounts. But I bailed on the service because they wanted me to enter ALL of my data re health insurance, credit cards etc. I did not. I thought it was stupid to put all of my electronic data in one place. Yet, I continue to get the “ALL clear” message every month.
    Methinks the latest hack jobs re the IRS (4 million people) and this latest and greatest hack attack of all fed employees SHOULD be a great dilemma for the feds. I think there is a potential for going back to paper. Or, re-working and/or re-programming every social security number. Personally, I have been receiving new credit and debit cards on a monthly basis.
    As I have been doing for most of my lifetime, I continue to pay my bills by check. I am going to start withdrawing even more cash on a weekly basis and try to stop most electronic transactions. Its an inconvenient bummer for sure,
    but after a weekend away from home into another part of the US where my card was denied for the most banal of transactions, the only advice I can give to anyone is start “relearning” to pay with CASH.
