Grave Robbers Steal Bones from Miami’s Historic Cemeteries

June 6th, 2018

Via: Miami Herald:

Kennedy, who lives in the small office at the center of the 10-acre Lincoln property in Brownsville, nightly chases away drug addicts, homeless people, prostitutes, vandals, bone burglars and Santeria worshippers who deposit offerings of slain chickens, fruit, candy, cigars and coins.

“I got shot once. Guy pulled a gun on me when I told him to get out,” said Kennedy, rolling up his shorts to show a scar on his thigh. “I might pick up 18 chickens in one day. I’ve picked up a boar’s head, a dead monkey, dead rabbits, apples, a birthday cake. We got some serious voodoo and hocus pocus out here.”

Thank you VERY MUCH for this article. I have relatives buried in Evergreen who were children of pioneer settlers in FL, although no descendants live anywhere near Miami now. Our family will look into whether their graves have been disturbed. Why did we all leave Miami? Because things like this started way back in the 1960’s, with President Carter’s boat people. My parents changed their wills to specify cremation. They left Miami when they went to the bank they had been using all their lives, saw a poster in Spanish, and asked for an English translation — which no one at the bank could provide: no habla engles. Now the remains of their parents, brothers and sisters buried at Evergreen are vulnerable to uses the original owners would consider Satanic. Maybe the Miami police are afraid of being cursed by the various voodoo-type cults if they act to prevent this vandalism and desecration — including Santaria, which tortures animals to death as well as digs up the deceased, as part of their ceremonies to control the spirits they believe in. Ain’t this multicultural New World Order great?
