Elon Musk Appointed To Twitter Board Of Directors; Vows To Make “Significant Improvements To Twitter”

Hmm… I doubt it, but who knows. It’s hard to imagine that Twitter can get any worse.

There was uncharacteristic radiosilence out of Twitter all day Monday following the news that Elon Musk has accumulated a 9.9% “passive” stake in the stock, with the clear intention of making substantive content changes in what has become a platform rules by snowflakes for snowflakes. Well, moments ago that silence was broken when TWTR dropped an 8K, in which it announced that the company will appoint Musk to the Company’s Board of Directors.

A friend and I had a conversation the other day about the super-rich and their potential for good or evil in society in the face of corporate fascism & totalitarianism…

Those who value wealth find their self-worth in their riches; they want moar, and if compliance enriches them, so be it.

Those who value power/ego expression find their self-worth in their autonomy; they want power — for good or ill, or just to do whatever the hell they want, like John McAfee — and compliance grates at them.

It’s obviously not so either/or, but it’s similar for the rest of us, though love of money is not the driver for many who bent the knee of late; they simply didn’t want their kids to go hungry.
