Pentagon Again Fails Annual Audit of $3.8 Trillion in Military Assets
November 16th, 2023Via: Stars and Stripes:
The Pentagon has again failed its independent annual audit, mainly because defense officials could not provide auditors with enough information to form a full accounting evaluation, according to the Defense Department’s yearly financial report released Wednesday.
…
The Defense Department continues to be the only Cabinet-level department that’s never earned a clean financial report.

And under FSSAB-56, no audit required (US Constitution optional).
Snopes.com says George H W Bush did not say,”If the people were to ever find out what we have done, we would be chased down the streets and lynched.” Maybe he was just thinking it. Or Kissinger was, or Rumsfeld, or Cheney, or…
For some reason, I never heard about the supposed quote from Bush—have read plenty of negative things about Snopes though.
One supposed, similar quote by Henry Ford has stuck with me though:
“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.”

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks…will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered…. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.” – Thomas Jefferson in the debate over the Re-charter of the Bank Bill (1809)
