On The Edge of Blade Runner
December 7th, 2006I couldn’t resist posting this. It’s a documentary that came out in 2000 about Blade Runner, probably my all time favorite film (along with Apocalypse Now, Jacob’s Ladder, Fight Club and Pi). Since Cryptogon probably has a higher percentage of Blade Runner freaks as readers than most other sites, I figured, why not!?

speaking of Pi, have you seen ‘the fountain’–also by darren aronofsky? i know you live in rural NZ and everything, but if you get a chance to watch it, take it. it’s a beautiful new film that shares a general feeling with Pi. just thought i’d share.
thanks for everything; you do great work!
while blade runner has a great feel too it, it has a future that suggests pretty little places to go for all those able to get away. i might suggest a film we seem to be closer to the edge of.
‘soylent green’.
with the leading edges of ‘silent running’ and ‘logan’s run’ off in the distance. and really, of all the seventies disaster epics, why was this one (soylent green) never remade considering the makeover mania in loopywood?
Thanks Kevin. Excellent.
If you like Pi, give “Primer” a viewing or two.

I prefer BRAZIL by Terry Gilliam as the best dystopic vision of where this is all going — Monty Python meets the Department of Homeland Security.
It will all be OK as long as They spell your name properly.
12 Monkeys!!
