Wildfires raging in the Texas Panhandle have destroyed grain in storage bins and likely killed tens of thousands of livestock, state Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller said in an interview on Thursday.

A blaze, dubbed the Smokehouse Creek fire, is the largest in Texas history and burning grazing lands covered with years of grass that are helping to fuel the fire, Miller said.

“It’s almost like gasoline when it goes up,” he said. “We have now lost over a million acres.”

There is something unnaturally familiar with the Texas wildfire photos I’ve seen so far. Then again, to me, the towerfalls of nine-eleven seemed like a masterpiece in demolition technology.

You were right about 9/11. What should look for in the Texas fire photos?

A reader sent this to me. My guess is that Joe is referring to blue roofs.

Need drone aerial video. From ground I’ve seen only 1 blue roof. So impressed with the fire dept and other officials acting so fast to help people and feed the remaining cattle, which we aren’t supposed to eat anymore, anyway. Note their weather: warm, precipitation sometimes tiny ice balls (ice nucleation), high winds.

Some say the world will end in fire,
    Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.
