New York Governor Kathy Hochul will deploy 750 soldiers from the state’s National Guard to help New York City police check commuters’ bags in the busiest stations in the city’s sprawling subway system, she announced on Wednesday.

Another 250 officers from the New York State Police and the state-controlled Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police will also join the effort, which Hochul said was intended to deter crime. She announced the deployment in response to recent high-profile assaults on commuters and transit workers.

I’ve seen two pics of nat’l guardsmen standing together in subway NYC station entrances, both with two guys facing each other and chatting. In one pic, they are within sight of the turnstiles but not close enough to see everything happening there in the crowd, certainly not to check anybody’s bag. In the second, they are in front of stairs, no turnstiles and only three commuters in sight.

First, NY creates an environment where crime can run rampant, then they use it as an excuse to bring in the military and, (if at some point they decide to actually do it), unconstitutionally stop people and search their bags, all supposedly to prevent further crime and ease the public’s fears (increase commuter traffic for more profit from fares).

Meanwhile, are two other guys, wacko and nutcase, pacing the platform below, out of sight, one with a knife in his sock and one with nothing encumbering his waving arms? Is that woman who bashes guys in the head creeping up behind the violinist? Or did the uniforms at the entrance scare these types away?

Yep, it’s helping about as much as I thought. On March 9:

NYC woman’s feet are AMPUTATED by oncoming subway train after ‘she was shoved onto tracks by boyfriend during an argument’

I wonder how long they had been arguing before he pushed her?

The boyfriend “ran away”. Police are looking for him.

Emergency people got her to the hospital before she could bleed to death, thank goodness.
