Government Working on Plan for Aftermath of Nuclear Bombing of Major City

In, Waiting for Clarity on the Brink of Oblivion, I wrote:

You do not want to try to reach the exit as millions of other people attempt to do the same thing. Waiting for clarity is not often rewarded.

Many Cryptogon readers think that they’re going to hedge their bets, and stay put for as long as possible, before making a strategic move… To know what’s coming and to think that you will be able to time your exit properly is the height of folly.

It is not easy to pull off a strategic move under “normal” circumstances. Having made a strategic move, I’m in a position to speak on this matter with authority.

It’s not easy.

…To think that you will be able to do it after an event, when borders are closed, or mostly closed, when internal passports may be required to travel across state lines, when the fascists must approve your exit plans, when your cash is not convertible into foreign currencies or maybe even worthless…

Friends and family, you’re in a clinical state of denial.

Let’s fast forward a week, a month or a year from today; nobody knows exactly when it will happen… When you could have made it to a better place, with relative ease, you sat by and waited, wished and hoped it wouldn’t come to this. And now, the freeways are jammed, the airports are closed and soldiers are checking your “papers.” Some number of people are being loaded onto trucks, but you can’t really see past the spotlights shining at you from the checkpoint up ahead…

“Oh, God, why did I wait for it to come to this?” some of you will think as you look at your spouse and children, who will be looking back at you, wondering the same thing.

Via: San Francisco Chronicle:

As concerns grow that terrorists might attack a major American city with a nuclear bomb, a high-level group of government and military officials has been quietly preparing an emergency survival program that would include the building of bomb shelters, steps to prevent panicked evacuations and the possible suspension of some civil liberties.

Many experts say the likelihood of al Qaeda or some other terrorist group producing a working nuclear weapon with illicitly obtained weapons-grade fuel is not large, but such a strike would be far more lethal, frightening and disruptive than the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Not only could the numbers killed and wounded be far higher, but the explosion could, experts say, ignite widespread fires, shut down most transportation, halt much economic activity and cause a possible disintegration of government order.

Perhaps the most sobering issue discussed was the possibility of a chaotic, long-term crisis triggered by fears that the attackers might have more bombs. Such uncertainty could sow panic nationwide.

“If one bomb goes off, there are likely to be more to follow,” Carter said. “This fact, that nuclear terrorism will appear as a syndrome rather than a single episode, has major consequences.” It would, he added, require powerful government intervention to force people to do something many may resist — staying put.

A phoney bird flu scare would achieve the same end (lock down populations) at a vastly lower cost. Sounds absurd? Well they have gotten away with the “binary liquid bombs on airplanes” farce, even though it is blatantly absurd – people still allow the airport thugs to steal their deadly shampoos and conditioners. They don’t even need a real flu virus, just scary stories on TV.

  2. fallout11 says:

Our local public school system (30K students) is actually canvasing applicants for a new position, one who’s sole purpose is to put together and administer contingency plans for a disaster, such as bird flu (specifically mentioned) or terrorism.

You have to figure that if they (the intelligence agency types, domestic and foreign (dancing and otherwise), and associated organized criminals) can get away with the 911 atrocity, with basically no investigation occurring and the incredible shenanigans of Atta and the rest at the Venice Airport (and associated heroin smuggling, cocaine etc.) being all but completely unremarked upon in the mainstream media, with the most “negligent” FBI supervisors who enabled the entire thing being promoted to higher positions . . . – – the same members of their “team” are in the same high positions of “law enforcement” so to say this group is not emboldened now with time running out in the Bush term to “go for it” would be foolish . . . thankfully there will be retribution on a higher level of reality for these thugs at some point . . . . if no justice for us here in this pathetic reality controlled by psychopaths . . . .

Alek, I’ve heard quite a bit of speculation regarding the same scenario you mention and it seems pretty plausible to me. The idea that the concentration camps being built here in the US would be used to incarcerate people in the event of some hyped-up, phoney pandemic (which wouldn’t be complete without mandatory pharma of some kind forced upon the public) is not at all far-fetched.

Last year, when the bird flu reached the peak of its mass widespread panic with absurd, ‘blood- pouring-from-eyeballs’ TV movies and the like, etc., I actually overheard a few morons at my job insisting that bird flu was created by ‘The Terroristsâ„¢’ to ‘take down America.’ Totally ridiculous stuff. People are taken in by anything churned out by “experts” these days.

  6. Jeannette says:

By the way, on the subject of “airport security” measures: it seems to be pretty clear that American airports are basically like petri dishes, for testing to see just how much “they” can get away with when it comes to bullying, herding, humiliating, inconveniencing and simply physically violating people. American airport security is so inane, so arbitrary, that it’s amazing to me everytime I fly. And no one complains; no one says a word, simply because they’re naive enough to believe that it’s all necessary and aimed to preserve “our freedoms.” So they all dump out their shampoo, take off their shoes/belts, and allow every one of their possessions to be X-rayed (there’s no point in buying food abroad and expecting to eat it after it’s been run through the airport X-ray machine a zillion times) and don’t complain. Incredible!

If all of this is supposed to be a deterrent to prevent people from traveling and encouraging a “stay-put” mentality, it seems to be working. According to a recent study I read, a very small percentage of Americans (something like less than 20%) have passports…which means that they have no idea what it’s like to leave the country and face the iron-clad security just to get back in the country. If more of them traveled to see the wide world outside the US, it might help to shatter the “freest country on earth” myths.

I’m very concerned about this, and keeping a finger in the air. If you come across more documented reports on this topic, please do post. I think open civil war in the US being started by the Bush cabal is a very real possibility. Question is will they make the move sooner, or wait until the end of the second term?

  8. KL says:

Well … Of course nuclear annihilation is possible in the big cities. It has been for some 70 years. And it may well happen again. But I don’t think so.

The new troubles are not so simple as a bomb.

    Natural disaster + Authorities don’t care = Katrina/New Orleans.

Or, AIDS in Africa. Deindustrialization of the USA.

I can’t find simple wood furniture for my kids made in America, even North America. We have grand forests, and we used to have people who knew the art of making furniture.

I still feel that if THEY commit a false flag nuclear attack – not a dirty bomb, but a real nuke event – it’s most likely to be somewhere far from where they mainly reside, which I suppose would rule out Boston and London (for example). Somewhere dispensible would be more likely.

The key propaganda value in any such attack would not be the location, but the nature of the attack, i.e., nuclear. With the world’s outrage on their side, they could then have carte blanche to launch nuclear strikes on the designated perpetrator to prevent further “state sponsored terror” in the west.

  10. Kevin says:

    @ cryingfreeman

You can almost hear it now, “They struck at the heartland of America.”

  11. bob m says:

speaking of heartlands…..an interesting little tv program called ‘jericho’ has been out for a while now. worth a look for the concept, delivery leaves a little to be desired. also noted in ‘heroes’, is the nuclear bomb in plain sight act. i always find it interesting when concepts seem to breath on ‘dramatic’ television while reflecting in the shallow mirror now known as ‘life’. brain studies have suggested that subconciously we can’t tell the difference between drama and ‘reality’ within our heads and the brain responds to it all as ‘reality’. repetitious delivery of concepts numbs the brain after the initial shock value. many have already seen the explosions of these types of bombs again and again on tv, the explosion is nothing new, only the toasty city and the potential to have to live through the aftermath. this is what has most noticably changed around these scenarios. it’s no longer nuclear armageddon with everyone disappearing in a flash (give or take a rapture, but ‘left behind’ hasn’t managed to make a tv show yet thankfully). it’s shifted to one or 2 cities at a time, with a ‘measured’ response. i think this is a profound shift in the human psyche toward the future of warfare and the average persons role in it.
    happy trails.

  12. Just because They exist does not mean They don’t have rivals. In fact, once you realize They exist, which most impoverished, but intelligent people do, you may start to aspire to be Them. And being Them may mean getting rid of Them.

Just because the U.S. used the Muj doesn’t mean the Muj wasn’t using the U.S. in return. They’ve had a long time to study the U.S., and their pedigree is just as fanatical as Theirs.

The calculus of this stuff is so complex that it reaches a point of uncertainty where you think maybe They’ve been telling the truth all along. It just seemed to implausible at the time.

    Sigh.

    Signal to Noise:

Hi Kevin, I read the Skinning the Cat series posted above and wondered if you would parse this thing and see if there is any signal in there. Would you accept a $25 amazon donation for doing it?

The Wanta story sounds like creative fiction that weaves in all the big stories of the day.

But the interesting thing is it provides creative explanations to my questions of:

    “Why did the Queen visit?”
“Why did Tony Blair step down?”
“Why is Dick Cheney acting insane?”
“Why is the US stock market booming?”
“Why did Paulson go to China?”

    George,

Please keep comments on topic from now on. I have a bad problem with people posting totally random stuff in comments, so I have to apply the same rule to everyone. But, since you have posted good information in the past I didn’t want to just delete your posts.

Thanks for the offer of the $25 bucks to look into these topics, but, unfortunately, I’ve already looked at them and can’t really pull much actionable intelligence out of them.

I agree completely, and I don’t have anything to add to that assessment. I read that thing months ago, but even early on, I got that Sherman Skolnick feeling… Sounds good, can’t confirm anything.

Re: The Black Pope: I first heard about this 15 years ago, and here we are… I don’t bother with individual Thems. That level of analysis is too vague for my taste. They’re like companies on the Dow 30; individual companies come and go, but the Dow 30 remains.

Dozens of authors have dedicated their lives to hashing out the genealogies and the biographies, but I accept that much of this stuff just isn’t knowable with any precision. More importantly, I don’t see the point.

Following the money is interesting. Who’s getting resources allocated to which values?

Doing that hashes out a lot of information. Unfortunately, that’s impossible with the Catholic church. However, we know it’s a big money laundering machine for the mob. We know that many priests rape children. We know the current Pope is a former member of the Third Reich. That’s enough for me, but I’m sure lots of people make a full time job out of chronicling the evil activities of that thing.

Re: Signal to Noise. There’s very little signal, in my experience. The best I can hope to do is find patterns in the noise.

I think there’s a very real possibility of civil war here. However, I’m pointing the finger (and other things) at the far left in the country.
