Another coronavirus feared to be powerful enough to spread through humans has been discovered in China. In scenes eerily reminiscent of the beginnings of Covid, researchers at the infamous Wuhan Institute of Virology detected the new strain living within bats.

    Are they constantly collecting bats from all the caves in China (and some in Thailand) and analyzing them for everything that could be present in an animal, then checking anything left unidentified for what’s new? What a chore.

    Besides, the presence of a human batcatcher contaminates the bats and everything else in the cave. If the bats have a virus that sickens humans, wouldn’t the batcatcher be the first to come down with it? Or someone in his family?
