Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has deployed National Guard troops across the state ahead of more anti-ICE protests.

Abbott announced the move early Wednesday in a post on X as protests sprang up in parts of Texas and across the U.S. this week.

“Texas National Guard will be deployed to locations across the state to ensure peace & order,” Abbott wrote in the post. “Peaceful protest is legal. Harming a person or property is illegal & will lead to arrest. @TexasGuard will use every tool & strategy to help law enforcement maintain order.”

Take the money presently given to Israel and give it to the immigrants to return home. Tell the immigrants that they are hated more than the Jewish Folks and thus deserve the money for protection.

Waving a Mexican flag at a protest offends me much less than watching Israeli flags and screaming for war plus duel citizenship.

Increase immigrant job pay and tell the consumer that the cost of produce is causing inflation and make less bombs and bullets.

To make what instead? War is not a racket, it’s an outlet. It is – somewhat – consensually wasted productive capacity. The ultimate point being to avoid either profit-erasing shorter hours or expropriation-prone exploitation, and in the medium term to delay capital overaccumulation.

Major conflicts tend to happen at the peaks and troughs of the Kondratiev cycle. At the peak productivity is high and worker consumption is falling – but crisis is not yet sufficient to defang solidarity. At the trough productivity is rising and worker consumption is low – and crisis is such that it fuels revolt. In other words, war allows to redirect production – and attention – at critical junctures.
