Jeff Childers who writes the “Coffee & Covid” Substack thinks that there is some kind of “4D chess” going on behind the scenes here, and even though I don’t know how true that is, I continue to be predisposed to hold onto some kind of hope that something is preventing this situation from devolving into civilization-destroying chaos.

It does seem to be the case that there are “laws” that oversee the actions of the powerful factions of this World–laws of nature or of God–that can sometimes play out over very long time frames. Or maybe the simulation folks are on to something.
