Dr. Michael Masters

When I don’t post anything on a weekday, it’s usually because I’ve rolled my eyes too many times after reading through hundreds of headlines and then I took a break in woowoo land.

His latest two publications, with a Harvard guy as principal author, sound interesting. (The guy is a psychologist doing research in “global well-being”.) I didn’t read them, but the newest could be useful if it lives up to its title: “The UAP Assessment Matrix: A proposed framework for evaluating evidence and understanding regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena”. (Full text online)

It’s good that some institutions of higher learning actually support interest and investigation into UFO phenomena, even if in a generalized, catch-all way.

The school where Masters teaches, Montana Tech, requires an SAT of 1120, has a 90% acceptance rate and a graduation rate of 36%. He is head of the dept. of interdisciplinary studies. The dept. has five faculty members plus one emeritus. The five all appear to be closer to age 25 than 45. There’s one woman. Each has a separate discipline, history, psychology, literature, etc. All but one has a PhD. (One of them, Chris Danielson, previously had a teaching position in New Zealand.)
