Nasa has said it hopes to send astronauts on a ten-day trip around the Moon as soon as February.

The US space agency had previously committed to launching no later than the end of April but said it aims to bring the mission forward.

It’s been 50 years since any country has flown a crewed lunar mission. Nasa will send four astronauts there and back to test systems.

The Artemis II mission is the second launch of the Artemis programme, whose aim is to land astronauts and eventually establish a long-term presence on the lunar surface.

haha, come on! Not a single Yes vote yet. lol

At current cultural speeds, February is still a LONG way out.

Given the current level of technical prowess among the American axis powers, unless they’re about to unveil SOMETHING SPECIAL — meaning we’ve finally reached Von Braun’s deathbed confession moment and its “aliens or bust” for the Underlords — then it’s just another huge puff of stage smoke billowing from under a thick veil of green velvet curtains surrounding the main stage.

That said, where’s your head at…?

It certainly *feels* like we’re in “waiting for the other shoe to drop” mode at present, if the steadily rising pineal and enteric signals of the last six years are to be regarded seriously.

More than once along the way there have been what we’ll just call proper “Don’t Panic” moments, full-on Douglas Adams ‘deja vu’ meets Sir Walter Raleigh in a can. Got your towel handy…?

    I’m voting ‘yes’.

    Distraction, of course. Also:

1a. An attempt to show the US is still #1 (if it ever was) technologically. The astronauts will land (surprise!) and set off a cloud of red, white and blue smoke that can be seen from earth by telescopes, proving the astronauts are there.

1b. Or, the red, white and blue smoke will be planted on the moon by the rocket, which contains no people. The smoke bomb will be set to go off shortly after the ‘landing’, which it does.

    2. Or, it’s a false flag to start WWIII. On the launch pad, the rocket engines won’t start when the ignition button is pushed. Instead, there is a little explosion in its side and it crumples and falls over. The capsule catches fire and everybody in it burns up. When the debris is collected, little holes are found in its sheathing where the explosion was, and bullets are found that are engraved ‘Death to imperialism’ in Russian and ‘Americans are very stupid’ in Chinese.
