People Living in Hotels Instead of Renting Homes or Apartments

I don’t think this is a new phenomenon, but please correct me if I’m wrong.

A friend of mine did this over 20 years ago in Oregon.

I live in Arizona and it’s a big thing here. Loads of old hotels in a town near where I live are being purchased and converted into quasi apartment buildings. But They still fall under Hotel rules in that you pay weekly or biweekly not 30 day leases and they’re exorbitantly expensive but it’s the only thing that some people can get. There’s almost no housing available here for rentals just purchase.
