Okay, I was quite a bit of a mess when I was a young’un, owing, I believe, to being mild-to-moderately autistic thanks to routine childhood vaccination. (I thank my lucky stars I was born too early to get the MMR vaccine as a child because I have heard that this vaccine really messed some kids up badly.) Looking back, I tend to think I was the “lead standard” (opposite of “gold standard”) for a messed-up kid. But even I wasn’t in as utterly pitiful a state as these poor kids seem to be. My brain hurts and my heart aches to think about it!
