VICTORIA is set to lift its ban on planting genetically modified food crops as early as February next year, paving the way for a rush of new food varieties on supermarket shelves.

Under pressure from the Federal Government and farm groups, the Bracks Government is preparing to scrap the moratorium that stops farmers using genetically modified products.

Then we have ‘experts’ like this thing being paid to push GM/GE: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,21546616-5001167,00.html

What the hell a self-styled sex industry expert is doing, giving her opinion in national publications on such a subject, is beyond me… I tried working out which E.Coli outbreak she was shitting on about and the only one I could find was from over 10 years ago. No wonder why… it turns out she copied virtually the whole article from a 10 year-old article by someone else!

At least she was brought down to size a bit: http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/transcripts/s1910530.htm

“ONE of Australia’s leading specialists on biological farming says he was dumped by the CSIRO because of his criticism of genetically modified crops.

Dr Maarten Stapper, a principal research scientist, worked for CSIRO for 23 years and is an expert on soil health which, he says, is the key to better crops.

He told The Sunday Age that senior CSIRO management bullied and harassed him and tried to gag his criticisms of GM crops.”
