Pentagon Confirms it Sought to Build a ‘Gay Bomb’

A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.
Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called “Gay Bomb.”
Edward Hammond, of Berkeley’s Sunshine Project, had used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain a copy of the proposal from the Air Force’s Wright Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio.
As part of a military effort to develop non-lethal weapons, the proposal suggested, “One distasteful but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior.”
The documents show the Air Force lab asked for $7.5 million to develop such a chemical weapon.
“The Ohio Air Force lab proposed that a bomb be developed that contained a chemical that would cause enemy soliders to become gay, and to have their units break down because all their soldiers became irresistably attractive to one another,” Hammond said after reviwing the documents.
“The notion was that a chemical that would probably be pleasant in the human body in low quantities could be identified, and by virtue of either breathing or having their skin exposed to this chemical, the notion was that soliders would become gay,” explained Hammond.
The Pentagon told CBS 5 that the proposal was made by the Air Force in 1994.

Achilles, Alexander, Hannibal and Julius Caesar were all gay or bisexual, didn’t hurt their military abilities either.
Finally, situational homosexual behaviour is rife within Arab and Muslim armies. Who needs a bomb? It wouldn’t change a thing.
Ironically, the one fighting force (farce) that could be demoralized and destroyed by such a weapon would be the pathologically homophobic Americans.

A large part of me would actually like to believe that there’s such a thing as an explosive device that will make hormonal 19- and 20-year-old dudes fancy other dudes. Oh what a field day I would have! 😀

An unusual mix of public health advocates, environmentalists and laundry workers joined yesterday in a petition demanding that federal authorities ban a chemical additive found in some household detergents and other cleaning agents. The petition, which was submitted to the federal Environmental Protection Agency, also called for studies of human risks related to the dirt-lifting agents called nonylphenol ethoxylates, or NPEs. Studies have shown NPEs to be potent gender-benders, believed to be responsible for transforming male fish into females in waterways worldwide. Marine scientists at Stony Brook University say NPEs are the likely culprit in the decline of male winter flounder in Jamaica Bay.

Alek, I’d say that it goes to prove that when it comes to megalomaniacal murderous madmen that you can certainly count on getting “screwed” by the ones claiming some sort of divine right regardless of how they “swing”.
I’ve taught my kids to be highly critical of anyone who has been labeled “great”. Without question they’ve all been property stealing killers. The old adage that history is written by the victors comes true. To get a more accurate portrayal of history maybe we should focus more on the vanquished.
As far as homophobia is concernced I’d say that homosexuals need to get off the bandwagon of forcing non-homosexuals to accept them, whether in the workplace, “forced governmental edicts” etc, just as I would tell non-homosexuals to stop bashing homosexuals. Its a two way street.
Whenever I see someone using government to force anyone to do anything I have a problem. Seems when the shoe is on the other foot people squawk but when they’ve the power to coerce someone to obey their diktats thats somehow considered “diversity” or “the will of the people” or some such rot gut excuse. The old saying that “A man convinced against his will is still of the same opinion” is very appropriate.
What the article doesn’t address is why in the hell are we spending yet more money on a military industrial machine? It shouldn’t come as any surprise. Because we’re addicted to it! (no pun intended)
Just imagine, entire platoons of enemy troops standing outside your house, criticizing your curtains. Horrific beyond words.

It would also make them quite horny, so they’d all be having sex. Actually, I don’t think it would be that bad of a weapon… The one thing I’d do different is get rid of the gay-ness portion, as there are less women in the military than men, so there desires would not be sated.
Unsaited sexual desires actually increases aggressive behavior and with it, “fighting spirit”, according to psychologists and the US Army. Pornographic movies, shown to soldiers before combat, where shown to increase morale, determination, and raw animalistic aggression during subsequent exercises in US Army tests during the early 1980’s. In fact, the Nazi’s (who ran a thriving but little known trade in pornographic films) would show their troops stag films before a major offensive, to get them “motivated”.
Sex and war have always been interlinked within the human psyche. Hence the prevalence of rape during war.
Not surprising, given that the Air Force has probably the highest percentage of fundamentalists of any branch in the US military.
