Iranians Attack Gas Stations Amid Rationing

June 27th, 2007

Via: USA Today:

Angry Iranians attacked several gas stations in protest after the government suddenly began long-threatened fuel rationing, while many others rushed to fill their tanks.

The Oil Ministry announced the start of rationing Tuesday night only three hours before it was due to begin at midnight. The sudden announcement sparked long lines at stations as Iranians tried to get one last fill-up before the limitations kicked in.

Several stations were attacked “by vandals,” state radio reported early Wednesday. It did not say how many stations were damaged or give details.

I wonder if the ‘real reason’ to conserve is so they have fuel for their War Machines? If so, does this mean Iran,USA,Israel are closer to the point of War?

Is this the truth, or another piece of the propaganda? If it is true, then does it mean that the Iranian government are sniffing out, what is coming from the west-side of the Middle-East, and they don’t like the smell of it.

The fact that this AP piece makes it difficult to judge. As a writer I could have written it in different light, so the question remains, is this propaganda or not.

That’s really going to help them get gas when the rationing is over. Not.

  4. This is only loosely related, but I found it thought-provoking nonetheless. If you control institutional wealth, you can subsidize a whole army of mercenary wikipedians to uphold your consensus reality, easily beating down the volunteers.

    Perhaps.

German Wikipedia receives state funding [to write about “Renewable Resources.”]

“Entries on this topic are to be improved under the direction of the private-sector Nova Institute. The Institute plans to get external experts to write entries on renewable resources for Wikipedia. These experts will first receive training for Wikipedia because collaboration in the community project has its pitfalls. The Institute is therefore looking for someone well versed in Wikipedia to handle project coordination. The project partners have issued a call for tenders for that position. Wikipedia experts can send in their applications immediately.”

“Articles on vegetable fibers, the EU’s quota on biofuels, and synthetic fibers that also contain natural fibers are to be added to the German version of Wikipedia. But before the first articles are written, the project leaders have a long planning phase.”

There is also a great deal of byzantine internal politics, infighting, sockpuppeteering, and ‘gaming the system’ at Wikipedia, making it an untrustworthy, compromised, non-primary source at best.
