BlueHost Promotion: $3.95 Per Month
July 1st, 2009BlueHost just dropped the price of their outstanding hosting package from $6.95 per month to $3.95 per month.
I don’t know what the boys and girls at BlueHost are thinking, but this seems like stark raving madness to me. In fact, I didn’t even believe it at first. I went into a “live chat” session with their support staff to ask, “Is that $3.95 deal on your home page real?”
It’s real.
If you have any doubts about what these accounts are capable of doing, look at this:

That’s a month’s worth of traffic on Cryptogon. That spike resulted from someone submitting the Google Sine Waves story to Reddit. The story went to the front page of Reddit and then spread to other social bookmarking sites, then other blogs, etc. My BlueHost account had no trouble belting it out.
If you have been thinking about starting a site (or sites—you can run multiple sites on one BlueHost account), or if you’re unhappy with your current host, BlueHost deserves serious consideration.

NOTE #1: I logged into my BlueHost affiliate screen to see if the banners had changed to reflect the new pricing. They’re all still showing $6.95 per month. Have they just not updated the banners, or is this really a “limited time offer,” like it says? I have no idea.
NOTE #2: If you don’t want your BlueHost signup acknowledged on Cryptogon for any reason, just let me know.
