Utah Congressmen Mailed “9/11 Conspiracies”, Hand Them Over To Capitol Police
July 31st, 2008Write your representatives… Oh, wait a minute.
Via: Infowars:
An otherwise uninteresting article in the Salt Lake Tribune, about Utah representatives receiving different kinds of mail, has thrown up some disturbing information regarding letters about 9/11 truth.
Amongst the stories about Congressmen receiving letters from people who use “Star Trek” stationery, and from kids wanting homework outlawed, we find the following little tidbit:
“Others have written in about 9/11 conspiracies, global takeovers or secret CIA mind-control techniques that “got so crazy we actually had to hand them over to Capitol Police,” he (Legislative assistant Omar Raschid) said.”
Apparently not accepting the government’s version of events surrounding 9/11 may land you in trouble with the cops if you’re writing from Utah.
Questioning the collapse of WTC 7 for example, an incident that was totally ignored by the 9/11 Commission Report, could get you reported.
Asking your elected representative how he or she thinks a man dying from kidney failure in a cave half way across the world was able to organize four breeches of U.S. air defenses in one day might embroil you in a police investigation.

Why We Don’t Have Viable Alternative Fuels and Electric Vehicles: Ask the Sheikh Who Flew His Lamborghini 6,500 Miles to Britain for an Oil Change
July 31st, 2008If this is what the Sheihk spends on an oil change, I wonder how many politicians he owns, outright???
As the oil begins to run out, the alternative solutions that have existed for decades—and others—will emerge.
Of course, you’ll be tracked, traced and chipped to within an inch of your life, but, hey, that’s for our own good, or “the terrorists” hate our freedom, or something like that.
On a different note, I think that I’ve figured out why the Peak Oil religion excludes the basic realities of political corruption and the suppression of alternative energy technologies over the last century or so. “We’re running out of energy,” is a much easier meme for people to swallow than, “Psychopaths have us over a barrel.” The Peaknics love to blame, “geology.” That’s convenient, especially if you’re the Sheikh who likes to overnight his sports car across the world for an oil change, or some other crook who’s in on the scam.
You definitely don’t need me to figure this stuff out! As the walls of your prison cell close in on you, just ask yourself, “Who benefits from this?” In most cases, you can come up with names, stock symbols, web sites, etc. in a matter of minutes.
The we’re-just-running-out-of-oil argument is the grandest lie-by-omission that I’m currently aware of. Yes, the oil is running out. Why is it a crisis for most of us and the best thing that could have ever happened to a few elites? Why weren’t viable alternatives developed and deployed decades ago?

Geology?
“Geology” has nothing to do with the answers to either of those questions. (Ok, maybe it does, if you want to talk about resources that could have been developed, but weren’t, like geothermal.)
“Same as it ever was,” is much closer to the mark.

A RICH Arab sent his Lamborghini on a 6,500-mile round trip to Britain for a service.
The £190,000 supercar was put on a scheduled flight from Qatar to Heathrow – then flown BACK after the oil check.
Money was no object as the flight would have cost the owner – thought to be a Sheikh – around £20,000.
…
The overall cost of sending the Lamborghini to London for the oil change would have cost more than £23,000.
His black-and-gold supercar costs £3,552 to service at an approved dealer – on top of the £20,000 to freight from Qatar to Britain.
The Murciélago LP640 – driven by Batman in movie The Dark Knight – arrived from the Middle Eastern country on Friday.
It cleared customs and was trucked to specialist mechanics in London for the service.
On Monday it was flown back 3,250 miles to the oil-rich state where it was collected by the owner.

Over 400 Forms Used by the NSA
July 31st, 2008Via: The Memory Hole:
Via a Freedom of Information Act request (which involved paying $700 and waiting almost 4 years), The Memory Hole has obtained blank copies of most forms used by the National Security Agency).
…
In response to a prior request, the NSA had sent a supposedly complete listing of forms that they use. (That list is located here.) I then requested a blank copy of each one. The NSA responded by sending a copy of more than 400 forms totaling 687 separate pages. (They also withheld 24 forms totaling 31 pages.)

Police Raid Wrong House, Shoot at Family, Receive Medals
July 30th, 2008Via: Star Tribune:
First, the city apologized. Then it gave awards.
Eight Minneapolis officers received medals in City Hall Monday for their valor in a botched raid that the city apologized for last year. That isn’t sitting well with the family shot at multiple times by the officers.
“I’m shocked that they’re receiving awards for that night,” said Yee Moua. “My family is a mess right now. My [9-year-old] son, who saw the shooting, still has nightmares and has needed therapy. They’ve ruined a life, and I don’t understand why they would get rewarded for that.”
The awards stemmed from a high-risk search in December. The eight officers — who had SWAT training — entered the house expecting to find a violent gang member. Instead, they found Vang Khang, a 35-year-old homeowner who thought he was being robbed. Khang shot through his bedroom door at the officers until he understood who they were.
In the midst of the shootout were Moua, who is Khang’s wife, and their six children, who range in age from 3 to 15. Moua said her family has since abandoned the house and can no longer afford to keep it.
Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. William Palmer said Tuesday the department has acknowledged the raid was a mistake and has apologized to the family. But he said the officers “performed very bravely under gunfire and made smart decisions.”
School to Put Students in ‘Prison’ Jumpsuits as Punishment
July 30th, 2008Via: Local Six:
A school in Texas will force students who don’t follow the rules to wear prison-like jumpsuits in a controversial move this coming school year.
Gonzales High School has new navy blue jumpsuits that students will wear if they break the dress code.
Violators will be forced to wear the jumpsuit for the day, the report said.
Some parents said the jumpsuits will make students feel like prisoners but the district said it’s just a way to keep the children dressed appropriately for school.
A school board official said it’s “worth a try” because it’s a way to keep the district’s conservative values intact.
Some students said the plan may backfire on the school.
“I talked to some of my friends about it and they said they are not going to obey the dress code just so they can wear the jumpsuit,” high school student Jordan Meredith.
Before the jumpsuits students who didn’t follow the code had to sit in the office and wait for their parents to bring them clothes or face in-school suspension.

Fed Extends Emergency Loan Program for Wall Street
July 30th, 2008Via: AP:
The Federal Reserve said Wednesday it is extending its emergency borrowing program to Wall Street firms and is taking other steps to ease a severe credit crunch that has hobbled the national economy.
The Fed said the program, where investment houses can tap the central bank for a quick source of cash, will now be available through Jan 30. Originally the program, started on March 17, was supposed to last until mid-September.
Another program, where investment firms can temporarily swap more risky investments for super-safe Treasury securities also will continue through Jan. 30, the Fed said. And, it also will let commercial banks, in a separate program, bid on cash loans that last longer — for 84 days, besides the 28-day loans now available.
The Fed said it was taking these steps “in light of continued fragile circumstances in financial markets.” The Fed said that the emergency borrowing program for investment houses and the program that lets investment firms temporarily borrow Treasury securities would be withdrawn should the Fed determine that conditions in financial markets are “no longer unusual and exigent.”
The smooth flow of credit is the economy’s oxygen. It permits people to finance big-ticket purchases, such as homes and cars, and help businesses expand operations and hire workers. Fallout from a trio of crises — housing, credit and financial — have badly bruised the economy. Growth has slowed and companies have cut hundreds of thousands of jobs.
Investment houses were given similar, emergency loan privileges as commercial banks after a run on Bear Stearns pushed the nation’s fifth-largest investment bank to the brink of bankruptcy. The situation raised fears that other Wall Street firms might be in jeopardy.
