‘We Cannot Afford to be Ill Prepared’: Research Hub Wants to Prepare Humanity for Potential Proof of Alien Life
November 16th, 2022Via: CTV News:
A new research hub at the University of St Andrews in Scotland is dedicated to preparing humanity for potential proof of extraterrestrial life.
“Will we ever get a message from E.T.? We don’t know,” John Elliott, the hub’s co-ordinator and a University of St Andrews computer scientist, said in a news release. “But we do know that we cannot afford to be ill prepared—scientifically, socially, and politically rudderless—for an event that could turn into reality as early as tomorrow and which we cannot afford to mismanage.”
The goal of the SETI Post-Detection Hub is to be a permanent co-ordinating centre for an international and multi-disciplinary effort to develop protocols, procedures and treaties aimed at ensuring humanity will “respond responsibly” if we find evidence of, or are contacted by, other life in the cosmos.

Target stores are getting looted, and it’s taking a huge bite out of profits.
The discount retailer told reporters on a call to discuss its third quarter earnings results that inventory shrinkage — or the disappearance of merchandise — has reduced its gross profit margin by $400 million so far in 2022 compared to 2021.
“At Target, year-to-date, incremental shortage has already reduced our gross margin by more than $400 million vs. last year,” Target CFO Michael Fiddelke said on the earnings call, “and we expect it will reduce our gross margin by more than $600 million for the full year.”

NASA Finally Launched Artemis 1 Moon Mission
November 16th, 2022Via: space.com:
NASA’s epic Artemis 1 moon mission is finally underway.
Artemis 1 lifted off today (Nov. 16) at 1:47 a.m. EST (0647 GMT) from Pad 39B here at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, marking the debut of NASA’s huge new Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and kicking off a 25-day journey to the moon and back for the uncrewed Orion spacecraft.
That trek will put Orion and its European-built service module through its paces.
…
If all goes well with Artemis 1, Artemis 2 will send astronauts on a lunar flyby in 2024 or thereabouts, and Artemis 3 will land crew near the moon’s south pole a year or so later.

Owner of Area 51 Website Has Nevada Home Searched, Seized by Federal Agents
November 16th, 2022Via: 8newsnow:
The owner of a website devoted to the Area 51 military base, is searching for answers as to why federal agents busted down the doors to search two of his homes.
Joerg Arnu, a naturalized U.S. citizen, has devoted much of his life to understanding the base. His website, dreamlandresort.com, is a clearinghouse for all things Area 51, including photos and videos of the base and anything flying above it.
…
Arnu claims that he repeatedly asked what he had done and received hints from an agent that one or more images on his site showed something that was classified, but no one told him what it is, or which image crossed the line.
He voluntarily took down some panoramas of the base and said he would have quietly done so earlier if anyone had requested it.

How World Economic Forum, Others Are Hiding Their Past Ties with FTX
November 15th, 2022Via: New York Post:
Web archive sites show that the World Economic Forum — whose glitzy shindig in Davos, Switzerland, is a must-attend for billionaires and world leaders each year — had previously listed FTX as one of its “partners,” touting the Bahamas-based firm as a “cryptocurrency exchange built by traders, for traders.”
Bankman-Fried also was a speaker at Davos last May alongside luminaries such as Google financial chief Ruth Porat and Bill Winters, CEO of the London-based financial giant Standard Chartered. Nevertheless, WEF has since scrubbed any mention of FTX from its website in the days after the crypto exchange filed for bankruptcy.
“FTX was a World Economic Forum partner. In light of last week’s events, their partnership was suspended and they were removed from the Partners section of our website,” a spokesman for the Geneva-based organization headed by Klaus Schwab told The Post on Monday.
Germany Steps Up Emergency Cash Plans to Cope in Blackout
November 15th, 2022Cash deliveries during blackouts? haha I mean, sure, why not? This sounds fine.
Via: Reuters:
German authorities are stepping up preparations for emergency cash deliveries in case of a blackout to keep the economy running, four people involved said, as the nation braces for possible power cuts arising from the war in Ukraine.
The plans include the Bundesbank, Germany’s central bank, hoarding extra billions to cope with a surge in demand, and possible limits on withdrawals, one of the people said.
Officials and banks are also looking at distribution, discussing for example priority fuel access for cash transporters, said others, commenting on preparations that accelerated in recent weeks after Russia throttled gas supplies.
Pfizer And Moderna To Investigate Their Own Vaccines For Myocarditis Risks
November 15th, 2022Via: ZeroHedge:
Why is Big Pharma investigating their own covid vaccines for myocarditis side effects if the vaccines were already supposedly tested and proven safe and effective?
Both Pfizer and Moderna have announced that they will be undertaking studies to determine the longer term risks of Myocarditis (an inflammatory condition of the heart which can lead to death) for people who have been injected with the mRNA based covid vaccines. The decision comes after the release of multiple medical studies which show a correlation and causation between the vaccines and an exponential increase in heart problems, specifically among men 40 years old and younger. Only a year ago the link between covid vaccinations and myocarditis was widely denied.
Studies also show that myocarditis risk increases with the number of boosters a person has taken.
