Nowadays people celebrate the holiday with massive feasts and watch football. But one thing consumers won’t be giving thanks to this year is soaring food inflation that could make Thanksgiving 2021 one of the most expensive on record.
“When you go to the grocery store and it feels more expensive, that’s because it is,” Veronica Nigh, senior economist at the American Farm Bureau Federation, told CBS News. She said food prices in 2021 jumped 3.7% versus a 20-year average of 2.4%. Turkeys and all the trimmings will cost 4% to 5% more this year than a year ago.
Rising food prices have been an ongoing issue since the beginning of the pandemic, as disrupted supply chains and adverse weather conditions around the world have made supplies of crops dwindle. Global food prices are at fresh decade highs and have begun to hit the wallets of consumers.
CDC Director: “Education and Counseling” for Unvaccinated Police, Government Workers

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, the CDC Director Rochelle Walensky declared that the Biden regime is planning to provide vaccine hesitant police and other government workers with “education and counseling” to make them “comfortable” about taking the shots.
Walensky told Chris Wallace that “We have seen that these mandates are getting more and more people vaccinated.”
“What we know from the police workforce is there have been more deaths from the coronavirus over the last year and a half than all other causes of death for that workforce combined,” she claimed, adding “So we believe it is very important to get these people vaccinated.”
Then came the kicker.
“There is a plan, should these people not want to be vaccinated, towards education and counseling to get people the information they need so that they are feeling comfortable in getting vaccinated,” Walensky declared.

Hertz Orders 100,000 Tesla Model 3 Electric Vehicles

Car rental company Hertz has ordered 100,000 electric vehicles from Tesla in a move that some analysts say further validates a growing electric vehicle movement in the U.S.
Hertz said Monday that it’s buying the Tesla Model 3 cars by the end of 2022, and it also will create its own electric vehicle-charging network. Hertz didn’t disclose how much it paid for the order, but analysts at Wedbush Securities estimated the deal at $4.2 billion. The base price for a Model 3 is about $40,000.
