Vaccine Mandate: Seattle Police Department Braces for Mass Firing of Officers
October 9th, 2021Via: Fox5:
Already facing a staffing crisis, the Seattle Police Department is bracing for the possibility that hundreds of officers will fail to meet an Oct. 18 vaccination deadline.
As of Oct. 6, 292 sworn personnel had yet to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination. That number is down from 354 on Tuesday.
To add another layer of concern, Seattle PD Spokesperson Sgt. Randy Huserik confirmed to FOX 13 News that there are an additional 111 officers awaiting results of exemption requests. Those 111 are not counted in the 292 figure – meaning if their accommodations are denied, the actual number of unvaccinated officers could be as high as 403.
Merck’s Covid Pill Could Pose Serious Risks, Scientists Warn
October 8th, 2021Imagine my shock.
Via: Barron’s:
Merck ‘s announcement that its antiviral molnupiravir had halved hospitalizations in a trial of high-risk Covid-19 patients was met with enthusiasm on Friday, inspiring a vision of a world in which treating a Covid-19 infection could be as trivial as swallowing a few pills.
Some scientists who have studied the drug warn, however, that the method it uses to kill the virus that causes Covid-19 carries potential dangers that could limit the drug’s usefulness.
Molnupiravir works by incorporating itself into the genetic material of the virus, and then causing a huge number of mutations as the virus replicates, effectively killing it. In some lab tests, the drug has also shown the ability to integrate into the genetic material of mammalian cells, causing mutations as those cells replicate.
If that were to happen in the cells of a patient being treated with molnupiravir, it could theoretically lead to cancer or birth defects.
Los Angeles Sheriff Says He Will Not Enforce Vaccine Mandate
October 8th, 2021Via: The Hill:
Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva said he will not force his employees to get vaccinated as required by a mandate the City Council passed on Wednesday.
“The issue has become so politicized,” Villanueva said on Thursday. “There are entire groups of employees that are willing to be fired and laid off rather than get vaccinated, so I don’t want to be in a position to lose 5 percent, 10 percent of my workforce overnight on a vaccine mandate.”
Winged Microchip Is Smallest-Ever Human-Made Flying Structure, Could be Used for, “Disease Tracking, Population Surveillance”
October 8th, 2021Via: Northwestern Now:
Northwestern University engineers have added a new capability to electronic microchips: flight.
About the size of a grain of sand, the new flying microchip (or “microflier”) does not have a motor or engine. Instead, it catches flight on the wind — much like a maple tree’s propeller seed — and spins like a helicopter through the air toward the ground.
By studying maple trees and other types of wind-dispersed seeds, the engineers optimized the microflier’s aerodynamics to ensure that it — when dropped at a high elevation — falls at a slow velocity in a controlled manner. This behavior stabilizes its flight, ensures dispersal over a broad area and increases the amount of time it interacts with the air, making it ideal for monitoring air pollution and airborne disease.
As the smallest-ever human-made flying structures, these microfliers also can be packed with ultra-miniaturized technology, including sensors, power sources, antennas for wireless communication and embedded memory to store data.

Attack Submarine USS Connecticut Suffers Underwater Collision in South China Sea
October 8th, 2021Via: USNI News:
Almost a dozen sailors have been injured after a U.S. nuclear attack submarine hit an unknown underwater object in the South China Sea, USNI News has learned.
The Seawolf-class nuclear attack submarine USS Connecticut (SSN-22) suffered an underwater collision while operating in international waters on Oct. 2 and is returning to port in U.S. 7th Fleet, a U.S. Pacific Fleet spokesman confirmed to USNI News on Thursday.
“The Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Connecticut (SSN-22) struck an object while submerged on the afternoon of Oct. 2, while operating in international waters in the Indo-Pacific region. The safety of the crew remains the Navy’s top priority. There are no life-threatening injuries,” Capt. Bill Clinton told USNI News.
“The submarine remains in a safe and stable condition. USS Connecticut’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remain fully operational. The extent of damage to the remainder of the submarine is being assessed. The U.S. Navy has not requested assistance. The incident will be investigated.”
Sweden Suspends Moderna Vaccine for Those 30 and Under
October 7th, 2021Via: New York Post:
Swedish health authorities on Wednesday suspended the use of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for those ages 30 and under, saying the move was done out of precaution.
The reason for the pausing is “signals of an increased risk of side effects such as inflammation of the heart muscle or the pericardium” — the double-walled sac containing the heart and the roots of the main vessels, Sweden’s Public Health Agency said in a statement. “The risk of being affected is very small.”
U.S. Troops Have Been Deployed in Taiwan for at Least a Year
October 7th, 2021Via: The Wall Street Journal:
A U.S. special-operations unit and a contingent of Marines have been secretly operating in Taiwan to train military forces there, U.S. officials said, part of efforts to shore up the island’s defenses as concern regarding potential Chinese aggression mounts.
About two dozen members of U.S. special-operations and support troops are conducting training for small units of Taiwan’s ground forces, the officials said. The U.S. Marines are working with local maritime forces on small-boat training. The American forces have been operating in Taiwan for at least a year, the officials said.
Unearthed Video From 2019 Reveals Fauci Contradictions on mRNA Vaccines
October 6th, 2021Via: ZeroHedge:
Although Dr. Anthony Fauci has spent the better part of two years assuring the public of the safety of COVID-19 vaccines, he expressly stated the necessity of adhering to an exhaustive three-stage clinical trial approval process in October of 2019 for any future developments in vaccine manufacturing. In another seemingly endless line of historical statements which contradict the various positions Fauci has contemporaneously, video has emerged in which the NIAID Director expressly compromises the fundamental premise of his support of Operation Warp Speed’s mass vaccination campaign.
Russia: ‘Conveyor Belt’ of Torture and Rape to ‘Break’ Prisoners
October 6th, 2021Via: Daily Mail:
Horrific videos have exposed a ‘conveyor belt’ of torture and rape within Russia’s prison system in which male inmates were brutally assaulted on camera and then blackmailed into abusing their fellow inmates using the footage.
Campaigners say gangs of rapists were deployed to ‘break’ prisoners and force them into signing ‘confessions’ or giving false testimony, as they exposed the sick scheme.
The videos include a man screaming in pain as he is violated with a mop handle inside a tuberculosis hospital, one male prisoner raping another who is tied to a bed, and a group of inmates urinating on another man.
At least 40 inmates were brutally assaulted on camera, activists say, though anecdotal evidence suggests the true number of victims is around 200.
Russian authorities on Wednesday said they had fired five senior prison officials, including the director of the prison where the alleged abuse took place and the head of the regional prison service, and opened a slew of criminal investigations over the footage.
