‘Financially Hobbled for Life’: The Elite Master’s Degrees That Don’t Pay Off

July 9th, 2021

Via: Wall Street Journal:

Recent film program graduates of Columbia University who took out federal student loans had a median debt of $181,000.

Yet two years after earning their master’s degrees, half of the borrowers were making less than $30,000 a year.

The Columbia program offers the most extreme example of how elite universities in recent years have awarded thousands of master’s degrees that don’t provide graduates enough early career earnings to begin paying down their federal student loans, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of Education Department data.

Two U.S. Citizens Arrested in Haitian President’s Assassination

July 9th, 2021

Via: USA Today:

Two men believed to be Haitian Americans were arrested in connection with Wednesday’s brazen assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse, an attack that jolted the Caribbean country and fueled further political chaos.

Authorities also said 15 Colombian nationals were among the group of more than two dozen who were part of the assassination, Haitian government officials said in a press conference late Thursday.

Haitian police identified James Solages, 35, and Joseph Vincent, 55, as the two American citizens involved in the overnight attack that also seriously wounded Haiti’s First Lady, Martine Moïse. Solages, who most recently lived in South Florida, identified himself on a charity website as a former bodyguard at the Canadian Embassy in Port-au-Prince.

Late Thursday, Colombia’s government said six of the suspects in Haiti, including two of those killed, were retired member of Colombia’s army, though it didn’t release their identities.

Haitian authorities say Moïse was killed by a group of “mercenaries” at his private residence early Wednesday morning.

Chinese Prenatal Test Sold Worldwide Used to Gather Genetic Data of Millions of Women; Possible Military Applications

A Chinese gene company selling prenatal tests around the world developed them in collaboration with the country’s military and is using them to collect genetic data from millions of women for sweeping research on the traits of populations, a Reuters review of scientific papers and company statements found.

U.S. government advisors warned in March that a vast bank of genomic data that the company, BGI Group, is amassing and analyzing with artificial intelligence could give China a path to economic and military advantage. As science pinpoints new links between genes and human traits, access to the biggest, most diverse set of human genomes is a strategic edge. The technology could propel China to dominate global pharmaceuticals, and also potentially lead to genetically enhanced soldiers, or engineered pathogens to target the U.S. population or food supply, the advisors said.

Reuters has found that BGI’s prenatal test, one of the most popular in the world, is a source of genetic data for the company, which has worked with the Chinese military to improve “population quality” and on genetic research to combat hearing loss and altitude sickness in soldiers.

New UC Berkeley Study Suggests Cell Phones Sharply Increase Tumor Risk

New UC Berkeley research draws a strong link between cell phone radiation and tumors, particularly in the brain.

Researchers took a comprehensive look at statistical findings from 46 different studies around the globe and found that the use of a cell phone for more than 1,000 hours, or about 17 minutes a day over a ten year period, increased the risk of tumors by 60 percent.

Researchers also pointed to findings that showed cell phone use for 10 or more years doubled the risk of brain tumors.

Much to the chagrin of the ruling class, despite their best efforts for over half of a year, an uncooperative 25% percent of the American proletariat still refuses to submit to the “vaccine” agenda.

Just like any analyst familiar with their keep-it-stupid-simple modus operandi would expect them to, the neoliberal media goon squad has turned, as it inevitably does, to old-fashioned Russophobia and race-baiting once their agenda hit a brick wall.

13-Year-Old Dies in Sleep After Receiving Pfizer COVID Vaccine

Via: Newsweek:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are now investigating the death of a 13-year-old Michigan boy, Jacob Clynick, who died a few days after receiving his second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Clynick received the second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on June 13 and died in his sleep on the night of June 15, the outlet reported.

“He passed away in the middle of the night at home,” Clynick’s aunt, Tammy Burages said.

After receiving his second dose, Clynick exhibited common post-vaccine symptoms, such as fatigue, fever and a stomach ache, according to Burages. But, she said that the symptoms were not severe enough to cause concern.

Clynick’s parents were told that a preliminary autopsy discovered that Clynick’s heart was enlarged when he died, according to the Detroit Free Press, but the Saginaw County medical examiner’s office could not confirm these claims.
