Army Special Forces Wants Lasers to Shoot Down Drones

February 11th, 2021

Via: Nextgov:

The Army wants to protect Special Forces operators from unmanned aerial systems—better known as drones—by shooting them out of the sky with high-energy weapons—better known as lasers.

The Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office added a new section to its broad agency announcement vehicle for cutting-edge technologies, putting out a call under “Counter Unmanned Aerial System High Energy Laster,” or C-sUAS HEL.

“The primary opportunity and purpose of this effort is to integrate a government owned High Energy Laser subsystem with a power and thermal subsystem and sensor package to demonstrate increased lethality in negating sUAS,” the call states.

Using lasers—or even laser pointers—to take down drones is not a new idea, and the U.S. military has been working on high-energy laser systems for years. This latest effort would apply existing military research to countering small drones and develop a single system that could be deployed by Special Forces.

Biden Administration Plans to Continue to Seek Extradition of Julian Assange

February 11th, 2021

Via: Reuters:

Justice Department spokesman Marc Raimondi on Tuesday said the U.S. government will continue to challenge a British judge’s ruling last month that Assange should not be extradited to the United States because of the risk he would commit suicide.

In a Jan. 4 ruling, the judge, Vanessa Baraitser, said, “I find that the mental condition of Mr. Assange is such that it would be oppressive to extradite him to the United States of America.”

The British judge set Friday as a deadline for the United States to appeal her ruling forbidding Assange’s extradition.

Raimondi said the United States will challenge Baraitser’s ruling. “We continue to seek his extradition.”

Hacker Tried to Overload Florida City’s Water System with Sodium Hydroxide

February 10th, 2021

Via: Daily Mail:

The hacker who breached the system managed to briefly increase the amount of sodium hydroxide by a factor of one hundred (from 100 parts per million to 11,100 parts per million), according to Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.

Sodium hydroxide, also called lye, is used to treat water acidity but the compound is also found in cleaning supplies such as soaps and drain cleaners.

It can cause irritation, burns and other complications in larger quantities.

Authorities say a supervisor saw the chemical being tampered with and was able to intervene and immediately reverse it.

Gualtieri insists the public was never in danger but admitted the intruder took ‘the sodium hydroxide up to dangerous levels’.

The city of Oldsmar, which has a population of about 15,000, is located about 15 miles from Tampa.

The Secretive Inventor Of The Navy’s Bizarre ‘UFO Patents’ Finally Talks

February 10th, 2021

Via: The Warzone:

As we continue to report on the extraordinary claims of Dr. Salvatore Pais and the inventions he has patented on behalf of the Navy, we continue to find scientists who suggest that the intended audience of these patents may not, in fact, be the scientific or aerospace communities as these patents and their supporting publications contain what most would call pseudoscience and empty jargon. Still, as we noted earlier, there are decades of research into similar approaches at breakthrough propulsion technologies or so-called “space time metric engineering”, much of it U.S. government-funded.

In fact, the Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry (CFUSAI) formed by President George W. Bush and the United States Congress in 2001 concluded that “in the longer-term, breakthrough energy sources that go beyond our current understanding of physical laws, such as nuclear fusion and anti-matter, must be credibly investigated in order for us to practically pursue human exploration of the solar system and beyond” and adds that “these energy sources should be the topic of a focused basic research effort.”

Maybe the research and patents of Dr. Salvatore Pais are a beginning attempt at the realization of this very long term goal. Then again, as a number of subject matter experts have suggested, they may represent something misleading, misguided, or misappropriated.

Regardless, even with so many questions outstanding, we do know one thing for sure: Pais himself is clearly a true believer in his work.

‘Smallest Reptile on Earth’ Discovered in Madagascar

February 10th, 2021

Via: BBC:

Scientists believe they may have discovered the smallest reptile on earth – a chameleon subspecies that is the size of a seed.

Two of the tiny lizards were discovered by a German-Madagascan expedition team in Madagascar.

The male Brookesia nana, or nano-chameleon, has a body of just 13.5mm.

This makes it the smallest of about 11,500 known species of reptiles, according to the Bavarian State collection of Zoology in Munich.

Its length from top to tail is 22mm (0.86in).

The female is far bigger at around 29mm, the institute said, adding that other specimens were yet to be located, despite “great effort”.

J&J CEO Says Annual Covid Vaccine Needed “For Years” As MSM Warns Virus Will “Circulate For Decades”

February 9th, 2021

Via: ZeroHedge:

…despite this impressive improvement in the pandemic, some are hinting that covid may be here to stay for a long, long time. Take the CEO of Johnson & Johnson, Alex Gorsky, who told CNBC that people may need to get vaccinated annually for Covid-19, Gorsky told CNBC the virus can mutate as it spreads causing it to have different responses to therapeutics and vaccines.

“Unfortunately, as [the virus] spreads it can also mutate,” he told CNBC’s Meg Tirrell during a Healthy Returns Spotlight event. “Every time it mutates, it’s almost like another click of the dial so to speak where we can see another variant, another mutation that can have an impact on its ability to fend off antibodies or to have a different kind of response not only to a therapeutic but also to a vaccine.”

“We’ll be getting a Covid-19 shot just like we would a flu shot. What that shot is going to be comprised of, I don’t think we know today. But I think we could all imagine a future where we’re living with this. But where we can keep the science at pace with the virus, so that we can keep on living our lives” Gorsky said.

Of course, the CEO of J&J – a company which stands to make billions from selling the covid vaccine year after year – has a clear conflict of interest and would like nothing more than to sell vaccines indefinitely… and to see Covid circulate within the population forever. After all, that would not only pump up JNJ’s stock price but the CEO’s compensation as well.

What is more troubling is that the narrative that covid will never actually go away is one that the mainstream media is starting to trumpet as well. As the WSJ reported earlier this week, while “vaccination drives hold out the promise of curbing Covid-19, but governments and businesses are increasingly accepting what epidemiologists have long warned: The pathogen will circulate for years, or even decades, leaving society to coexist with Covid-19 much as it does with other endemic diseases like flu, measles, and HIV.”

“Going through the five phases of grief, we need to come to the acceptance phase that our lives are not going to be the same,” said Thomas Frieden, former director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “I don’t think the world has really absorbed the fact that these are long-term changes.”

So does that mean masks and social distancing forever? Perhaps…

Doctors Link Pfizer, Moderna Vaccines to Life-Threatening Blood Disorder

February 9th, 2021

Via: Children’s Health Defense:

For the second time in under a month, The New York Times has published an article about people who developed a rare autoimmune disease after receiving COVID vaccines.

Monday’s article featured two women, both of whom were described as healthy before they received the Moderna vaccine. The women, ages 72 and 48, are now being treated for immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition that develops when the immune system attacks platelets (blood component essential for clotting) or the cells that create them, according to the Times.

On Jan. 13, the Times reported on the death of Dr. Gregory Michael, a Florida doctor who died 15 days after getting the Pfizer vaccine. Michael, who was 56 and described as “perfectly healthy” by his wife, developed ITP three days after being vaccinated. He died of a brain hemorrhage on Jan. 3. As The Defender reported on Jan. 13, Dr. Jerry L. Spivak, an expert on blood disorders at Johns Hopkins University, said it was a “medical certainty” the Pfizer vaccine led to Michael’s death.

Spivak, who was interviewed for Monday’s article in the Times, reiterated the link between the vaccine and ITP. Another doctor, Dr. James Bussel, a hematologist and professor emeritus at Weill Cornell Medicine who has written more than 300 scientific articles on the platelet disorder, also said he thinks there is a “possible” association between the vaccines and ITP.
