This Is Not a Revolution. It’s a Blueprint for Locking Down the Nation
June 2nd, 2020Via: The Rutherford Institute:
Brace yourselves.
There is something being concocted in the dens of power, far beyond the public eye, and it doesn’t bode well for the future of this country.
Anytime you have an entire nation so mesmerized by political theater and public spectacle that they are oblivious to all else, you’d better beware.
Anytime you have a government that operates in the shadows, speaks in a language of force, and rules by fiat, you’d better beware.
And anytime you have a government so far removed from its people as to ensure that they are never seen, heard or heeded by those elected to represent them, you’d better beware.
What is unfolding before us is not a revolution.
The looting, the burning, the rioting, the violence: this is an anti-revolution.
The protesters are playing right into the government’s hands, because the powers-that-be want this. They want an excuse to lockdown the nation and throw the switch to all-out martial law. They want a reason to make the police state stronger.
It’s happening faster than we can keep up.
Looting and Violence Continues in New York City Despite Unprecedented Curfew
June 2nd, 2020Via: Guardian:
An unprecedented curfew in New York City on Monday night did little to prevent destruction, as people smashed their way into shops including Macy’s flagship store, grabbed merchandise and fled.
Police said more than 200 were arrested and several officers were injured, following another day of peaceful protests throughout the city over the death of George Floyd, an African American man who died on 25 May after a white Minneapolis police officer pressed a knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
One officer was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Military Begins Staging to Quell George Floyd Protests
June 2nd, 2020Via: Newsweek:
The Defense Department has begun positioning active duty troops around the Washington area in anticipation of President Donald Trump following through on his historic threat Monday to use the military to quell widespread and at-times violent protests across the country, including in the nation’s capital, if local authorities didn’t do more to stop them.
Active duty military police and combat engineers had not entered the District of Columbia but were, as of Monday evening, staging in the region – likely on one of the military bases nearby – “to ensure faster employment if necessary,” according to a senior defense official speaking on the condition of anonymity. Some had come from units based elsewhere in the country, but the official declined to offer specifics. Other news outlets, including Military.com, reported soldiers from the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg in North Carolina were among the forces that had deployed.

The George Floyd Protests – 20 Unanswered Questions
June 1st, 2020Via: Off Guardian:
Racial politics in America are a simmering pot waiting to boil over, they have been for decades. This is only exacerbated as the poverty created by the (totally unnecessary) lockdown starts to hit home.
As the weather gets hot, and jobs dry up and prices skyrocket and the small businesses close…people will get tense. They will get angry.
This is dry tinder which can burst into flames at any moment.
All it took was a spark.
Now the protesters swarm cities all across America, as windows are smashed, shops looted and public buildings set afire. Civilians are being maced and tasered and the rubber bullets are flying.
How did we get here?

Pandemic Effects Could Leave 54 Million Americans Without Food
June 1st, 2020Via: Guardian:
A record number of Americans face hunger this year as the catastrophic economic fallout caused by the coronavirus pandemic looks set to leave tens of millions of people unable to buy enough food to feed their families.
Nationwide, the demand for aid at food banks and pantries has soared since the virus forced the economy to be shutdown, resulting in more than 40m new unemployment benefit claims, according to the latest figures.
As a result, an estimated one in four children, the equivalent of 18 million minors, could need food aid this year – a 63% increase compared to 2018.
Overall, about 54 million people across the US could go hungry without help from food banks, food stamps and other aid, according to an analysis by Feeding America, the national food bank network.
L.A. COUNTY STATE OF EMERGENCY; COUNTYWIDE CURFEW
May 31st, 2020Via: LA Times:
After two days of protest, chaos and looting, it was a surreal Sunday in Southern California as demonstrators once again gathered en masse, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, to protest the death of George Floyd, a black man who died last week after a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck.
National Guard troops and police officers guarded the barricaded steps of Los Angeles City Hall. Los Angeles County officials enacted a mandatory, countywide overnight curfew — and Santa Monica enacted one that started even earlier, at 4 p.m.
The protests in downtown Los Angeles, Huntington Beach and elsewhere were, by far, mostly peaceful. But in Santa Monica and Long Beach, police struggled to deal with looters breaking into stores and vandalizing businesses.
California: Newsom Declares State of Emergency in L.A., Deploys National Guard
May 31st, 2020Via: LA Times:
Gov. Gavin Newsom late Saturday declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles county and city and activated the National Guard to assist police after two days of violent demonstrations sparked by the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd, a black man whose neck was pinned down by a white police officer.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti requested that Newsom mobilize the Guard less than an hour after the mayor expanded a mandator curfew, first set for downtown, to the entire city from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Los Angeles Metro said it was suspending all transit during the curfew period.
