Virginia Woman, 19, Commits Suicide by Shooting Herself in the Head While Her Hands Were Cuffed Behind Her Back in Police Custody, Medical Examiner Rules

The death of a 19 -year-old Virginia woman who died while in police custody from a gunshot wound to the head in July has been ruled a suicide by the medical examiner’s office.
Police said Sarah Wilson managed to shoot herself through the mouth while her hands were cuffed behind her back following a drug bust during a traffic stop in Chesapeake on July 25.
Officers had left her unattended while in pursuit of her boyfriend, Holden Medlin, 27, during which time she is said to have obtained a gun from the Lexus she was riding in.
Wilson’s mother, Dawn, said she doubted her daughter took her own life, based on what she said are witness accounts that point to police shooting Sarah.
No police body camera footage has been released from the incident, because police said it was knocked off during their pursuit of Medlin.

Bacteria Discovered In Irish Soil Kills Four Drug-Resistant Superbugs

The researchers first tried the newly discovered strain of Streptomyces on some garden variety bacteria. In their petri dish experiment, “it knocked them out,” Quinn said. “Then we thought we’d take it one step further and find some multi-resistant organisms.”
The bacteria in the experiment killed four out of the top six organisms that are resistant to antibiotics, including MRSA.
“It’s quite surprising,” said Quinn.
Christchurch: NZSAS, Other Special Forces Teams and Armed Police Exercises Underway During Mosque Attacks

Some of the world’s most deadly sharpshooters were in Christchurch when New Zealand’s worst ever terror attack unfolded on Friday, with NZSAS taking to the streets to help hunt the rampaging mosque shooter.
Snipers from the New Zealand military, as well as professional snipers from Australia and Asian countries, had been at the Defence Force shooting range at West Melton, 25kms west of the city, the Herald has been told.
When the massacre unfolded, they were sprung into action and understood to have been granted special powers to take up arms in order to protect the public.
NZSAS soldiers were photographed with weapons and balaclavas masking their face near the Al Noor Mosque by Hagley Park where a gunman stormed Friday prayer and shot dead more than 40 people.
One photograph, which has appeared on social media, appears to show an NZSAS soldier with an army sniper rifle or designated marksman weapon outside the Deans Ave mosque.

Others responded to a callout at Papanui High School which was feared to have been under attack too.
Heavily-armed masked officers were seen travelling in civilian rental vehicles with police on Friday afternoon.
New Zealand Police special tactics group (STG) officers were also on the frontline.
The Defence Force and Police have been approached for comment.
The two police officers who finally apprehended the gunman on Brougham St were also out-of-towners who joined the urgent scramble to find the fleeing gunman.
They were on a training session at Princess Margaret Hospital in Cashmere, using a disused floor of the hospital to practice room clearing and dealing with armed offenders.
After hearing there was an active shooter on the loose in the city, the officers, who are both based in smaller towns out of Christchurch, took to the streets to stop him.

Christchurch Mosque Shootings: One Man Faces Murder Charges, What Happened to the Other Three Arrested?

While four people were arrested in relation to Christchurch’s mosque massacres, only one man, Brenton Tarrant, has been charged with murder.
What happened to the other three? And why were they suspects?
One woman and two other men were also arrested and held in custody in relation to the attacks.
The woman has been released without charge. The man who was in a vehicle with the woman has been charged with firearms offences and will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Monday.
An 18-year-old man, who was not connected to the couple, will also appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday for possessing a firearm.
Police say they do not believe either men were involved in the attacks.

A Christchurch mosque has been linked to the drone killing of New Zealand al-Qaida suspect Daryl Jones.
The parents of an Australian killed alongside Jones say their son was taught radical Islam in Christchurch, where he also met Mr Jones.
Christopher Havard was killed alongside Mr Jones by a US drone in Yemen last year.
His parents, Neill and Bronwyn Dowrick, say their son told them he was first taught radical Islam at the Al Noor mosque in Addington.
Mr Havard moved from Australia to New Zealand in 2010. He’s remembered at the mosque by the name of Saleem Khattab.
“[He was] no different than other people,” says mosque president Mohamed Jama. “He was a normal man.”
Mr Havard’s parents say it’s at the mosque he met fellow convert Mr Jones, who was known at Muslim Bin John.
But the mosque can’t remember Mr Jones, and denies teaching radical Islam.
It seems Kiwi spies may have had the mosque under surveillance.
“I’m not going to go into the individual entities or the operations that the SIS or the GCSB conducted,” says Prime Minister John Key.

The parents of a man killed by a drone in Yemen say he was “radicalised” in Christchurch. But preachers at the city mosque say they are moderates.
Christchurch’s Muslim leaders say they are shocked and “disturbed” by claims two men killed in a drone strike in Yemen were introduced to radical Islam at their mosque.
Australian Christopher Havard, 27, and dual New Zealand-Australian national Daryl Jones were killed by a missile fired by a US drone in November.
Australia’s ABC news yesterday reported the pair had been on an Australian Federal Police watchlist because of their links to al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) terror group.
Havard and Jones – who went by the name Muslim bin John – reportedly met in Christchurch after Havard converted to Islam.
Havard’s mother and stepfather, Bronwen and Neill Dowrick, said their son joined the local mosque and told them that was where he first encountered radical Islam.
“When he moved into the mosque he realised what they were trying to convert people to. That’s when he left and went to Dunedin. He didn’t agree with what they were teaching,” they said.
The then-imam of the Christchurch mosque, Hisham el Zeiny, said he had “never seen any signs of radical Islam” in Christchurch.
Havard had joined the mosque after asking to do community service there and appeared to be a “very normal guy”.
Pentagon Wants to Test A Space-Based Weapon in 2023

Defense officials want to test a neutral particle-beam in orbit in fiscal 2023 as part of a ramped-up effort to explore various types of space-based weaponry. They’ve asked for $304 million in the 2020 budget to develop such beams, more powerful lasers, and other new tech for next-generation missile defense. Such weapons are needed, they say, to counter new missiles from China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. But just figuring out what might work is a difficult technical challenge.
So the Pentagon is undertaking two studies. The first is a $15 million exploration of whether satellites outfitted with lasers might be able to disable enemy missiles coming off the launch pad. Defense officials have said previously that these lasers would need to be in the megawatt class. They expect to finish the study within six months.
They’re also pouring money into a study of space-based neutral particle beams, a different form of directed energy that disrupts missiles with streams of subatomic particles traveling close to light speed — as opposed to lasers, whose photons travel at light speed.
New Zealand: Dozens Killed in Terrorist Attack
March 15th, 2019I’ve been reading through Brenton Tarrant’s manifesto, The Great Replacement.
As I was reading, I kept thinking, “This sounds familiar. Where I have seen this before?”
It has been a while since I’ve thought about Pol Pot, but Tarrant is hoping to bring about a sort of white man’s version of the Khmer Rouge. If you read through the manifesto, compare his ideas to what was actually carried out in Cambodia:
The Khmer Rouge regime was highly autocratic, xenophobic, paranoid, and repressive. The genocide was in part the result of the regime’s social engineering policies. Its attempts at agricultural reform through collectivisation led to widespread famine while its insistence on absolute self-sufficiency, even in the supply of medicine, led to the death of many thousands from treatable diseases such as malaria. The Khmer Rouge’s racist emphasis on national purity included several genocides of Cambodian minorities. Arbitrary executions and torture were carried out by its cadres against perceived subversive elements, or during genocidal purges of its own ranks between 1975 and 1978.

Tarrant sees the collapse of the U.S. into civil war as a crucial part of this plan. He sees gun violence and issues around the 2nd Amendment as the catalyst:
I chose firearms for the affect it would have on social discourse, the extra media coverage they would provide and the affect it could have on the politics of United states and thereby the political situation of the world. The US is torn into many factions by its second amendment, along state, social, cultural and, most importantly, racial lines. With enough pressure the left wing within the United states will seek to abolish the second amendment, and the right wing within the US will see this as an attack on their very freedom and liberty. This attempted abolishment of rights by the left will result in a dramatic polarization of the people in the United States and eventually a fracturing of the US along cultural and racial lines.

Tarrant claims to have sought a “blessing” for the attack from the “reborn Knights Templar” (see: Anders Breivik) White supremacist organizations are thoroughly infiltrated by government operatives. I would expect anyone communicating with these organizations to wind up on multiple watchlists. A gunman shot dead 49 people and wounded more than 40 at two New Zealand mosques, some as they were kneeling at prayer, livestreaming online some of the killings that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern condemned as terrorism.
The gunman broadcast footage of the attack on one mosque in the city of Christchurch on Facebook, mirroring the carnage played out in video games, after publishing a “manifesto” in which he denounced immigrants, calling them “invaders”.
The video footage widely circulated on social media, apparently taken by a gunman and posted online live as the attack unfolded, showed him driving to one mosque, entering it and shooting randomly at people inside.
Worshippers, possibly dead or wounded, lay huddled on the floor, the video showed. Reuters was unable to confirm the authenticity of the footage.
It was the worst ever mass killing in New Zealand which raised its security threat level to the highest, Ardern said, adding that “this can now only be described as a terrorist attack”.
Police said three people were in custody including one man in his late 20s who had been charged with murder. He will appear in court on Saturday.
Police have not identified any of the suspects.
