Anduril Industries Will Build Massive Autonomous Weapons Factory in Ohio

Anduril Industries – the maker of autonomous systems and weapons – has selected Columbus in Ohio for its first hyperscale manufacturing facility.
The facility named Arsenal-1 will be built with the motive of making the United States and its allies self-sufficient in the race for autonomous systems and drones.
At full scale, the facility will span 5 million square feet and produce tens of thousands of military systems annually, as per Anduril. Moreover, the company also says that there is further scope of expansion of the manufacturing facility.
Arsenal-1 in Ohio will join Anduril’s other factories including its solid rocket motor factory in Mississippi, the robotic submarine facility in Rhode Island, a launched effects factory in Georgia, the XL-AUV factory in Australia and production facilities in California.

In a separate interview with the Wall Street Journal, Gates said he was “impressed” with Trump’s interest in global health issues during their “long and actually quite intriguing dinner.”
He said they discussed the possibility of developing a cure for HIV, with Gates adding: “He, in the Covid days, accelerated the vaccine innovation. So I was asking him if maybe the same kind of thing could be done here, and we both got, I think, pretty excited about that.”
Gates also said he urged Trump to continue efforts to combat polio around the world.
“I felt like he was energized and looking forward to helping to drive innovation,” Gates told the Journal. “I was frankly impressed with how well he showed a lot of interest in the issues I brought up.”
California: Moss Landing Lithium Ion Energy Storage Facility on Fire

One of the world’s largest lithium battery plants went up in flames on Thursday, prompting evacuations and warnings to stay inside to avoid noxious fumes in Monterey County. “There’s no way to sugar coat it,” Monterey County Supervisor Glenn Church told KSBW. “This is a disaster.”
The Moss Landing Power Plant, located about 90 miles south of San Francisco, caught fire Thursday afternoon, prompting evacuation orders for the nearby area and the closure of Highway 1. Road closures and evacuations are still in place as of Friday morning and can be found on Monterey County’s emergency alert feed.
Beyond the evacuation zone, county officials are asking a wide swath of the region to “stay indoors, keep windows and doors closed, limit outdoor exposure, and turn off ventilation systems.” North Monterey County Unified School District said all schools will be closed Friday due to the fire.
The facility is owned by Texas company Vistra Energy and contains tens of thousands of lithium batteries.

The very richest Americans are among the biggest winners from President Joe Biden’s time in office, despite his farewell address warning of an “oligarchy” and a “tech industrial complex” that threaten US democracy.
The 100 wealthiest Americans got more than $1.5 trillion richer over the last four years, with tech tycoons including Elon Musk, Larry Ellison and Mark Zuckerberg leading the way, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The top 0.1% gained more than $6 trillion, Federal Reserve estimates through September show.
Biden warned of “a dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few ultra wealthy people,” in his speech from the White House on Wednesday. “Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead.”
