Qassam Brigades threatens to execute Israeli captives
Hamas’s Qassam Brigades has threatened to execute Israeli captives if Israel continues to bombard and kill civilians in Gaza.
“Any targeting of innocent civilians without warning will be met regretfully by executing one of the captives in our custody, and we will be forced to broadcast this execution,” said Abu Obeida, a spokesman for Hamas’ Qassam Brigades.
“We regret this decision but we hold the Zionist enemy [Israel] and their leadership the responsibility for this,” he said.

Israeli army says attacks on Gaza to continue even if harm reaches captives
The Israeli army radio has reported that Israeli airstrikes on Gaza will continue even at the cost of harming Israeli captives in Gaza.
“Attacks on the Gaza Strip will be carried out powerfully and widely, even at the cost of harming Israeli hostages who are in captivity in Gaza.
“If there is accurate intelligence information about the location of the captives. Certainly Israel will refrain from attacking that location, but as long as such information does not exist, all Hamas targets will be attacked.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Monday to “change the Middle East” in Israel’s war with Palestinian militant group Hamas, as the army pounded the Gaza Strip with air strikes.
“What Hamas will experience will be difficult and terrible… we are going to change the Middle East,” Netanyahu told officials visiting Jerusalem from the country’s south, where Hamas militants carried out a surprise attack on Saturday morning.
“This is only the beginning… we are all with you and we will defeat them with force, enormous force.”
Israel Orders Complete Siege of Gaza, Cuts Off Food, Water, Electricity, Fuel
October 9th, 2023As Israel masses troops ahead its invasion of the Gaza Strip, it has cut off food, water, electricity and fuel to a population of over two million people.
I don’t know if there is any precedent for this.
Also, Israel is calling up 300,000 troops. This might mean that the war is about to extend beyond Israel’s borders.

A “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip – leaving the territory with no food, electricity or fuel – has been ordered by Israel.
Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant said Israel was “battling beastly people” and was conducting itself as such, after Hamas launched a surprise attack from Gaza on Sunday.
The Israeli infrastructure minister Israel Katz said he had ordered the water supply between Israel and Gaza to be shut off immediately.
It comes as a “huge rocket barrage” – speculated to have come from the Gaza Strip – hit central Israel late on Monday morning.
Israeli forces are currently fighting Hamas in two locations inside Israel, after the country formally declared war on the militant group.
Around 300,000 reservists have been called up by the Israeli military.

Since the rollout of the COVID-19 “vaccines,” deaths among young people have surged at alarming rates. And, unfortunately, the situation is only getting worse. Pentagon Orders Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group to Eastern Mediterranean
October 8th, 2023Via: Military Times:
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Sunday he has ordered the Ford carrier strike group to sail to the Eastern Mediterranean to be ready to assist Israel after the surprise attack by Hamas that has left more than 1,000 dead and thousands wounded on both sides. Americans were reported to be among those killed and missing.
The USS Gerald R. Ford the Navy’s newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, and its approximately 5,000 sailors and deck of warplanes will be accompanied by cruisers and destroyers in a show of force that is meant to be ready to respond to anything, from possibly interdicting additional weapons from reaching Hamas and conducting surveillance.
The large deployment, which also includes a host of ships and warplanes, underscores the concern that the United States has in trying to deter the conflict from growing. The Israeli government formally declared war Sunday and gave the green light for “significant military steps” to retaliate against Hamas.
“An Event That Will Cover It All Up”: Iran Helped Hamas “Plot Israel Attack Over Several Weeks”, Gave Green Light, WSJ Reports
October 8th, 2023Remember when Ed Dowd, thought that a tipping point was near with regard to Covid crimes? I doubted it, but I liked the last few words of one of his statements:
“And when we get to a critical amount of people, the anger will be such that the politicians will understand that something’s changed, the regulators will start to worry, and we’ll start to see something — or an event that will cover it all up.”
What’s that up in the sky?
Then, from a comment a couple of days ago:
I’d put the chances of genuine strategic surprise at approximately 0%.
To what end, though? Blame Iran?
And now…
Via: ZeroHedge:
Readers may recall that we ended our first post-mortem to the war between Israel and Hamas by speculation if Iran would get dragged in:
Finally, there is some speculation that Iran may get dragged into what is rapidly emerging as the worst Middle-Eastern crisis in years, with various pro-Israeli hawks claiming that the Hamas attack would have only occurred with explicit Iranian backing. If Israel does indeed attack Iran, as it has hinted it would do for years, may we suggest you fill up your gas tank.
That speculation has been all but validated moments ago when the WSJ reported that “Iranian security officials helped plan Hamas’s Saturday surprise attack on Israel and gave the green light for the assault at a meeting in Beirut last Monday”, according to senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah, another Iran-backed militant group.
Officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had worked with Hamas since August to devise the air, land and sea incursions, the WSJ reported citing its Hamas and Hezbollah sources.
Are U.S. Weapons Abandoned in Afghanistan and Sent to Ukraine Being Used by Hamas in War Against Israel?
October 8th, 2023I’ve been watching a lot of video of Hamas using U.S. M4/M-16-type weapons in the war in Israel. Where did they get those weapons?
This is from June.
Via: Newsweek:
A high-ranking Israel Defense Forces (IDF) commander has told Newsweek that Israel is concerned over the risks of weapons provided by the United States and other Western nations to Ukraine ending up in the hands of Israel’s foes in the Middle East, including Iran.
…
More recently, the Taliban secured a substantial arsenal of U.S. weapons and equipment, including Black Hawk helicopters, after U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan in August 2021. The Israeli commander with whom Newsweek spoke said some of the U.S. small arms seized in Afghanistan have already been observed in the hands of Palestinian groups operating in the Gaza Strip.
Project Kuiper: Amazon Launches First Internet Satellites
October 7th, 2023Via: PC World:
Amazon’s prototypes for Project Kuiper successfully lifted off into space on Friday, setting the stage for the first space-based tests of the satellite internet service.
The two prototype satellites, KuiperSat-1 and KuiperSat-2, rode onboard an Atlas V rocket from Amazon’s partner, United Launch Alliance.
…
Once the tests are completed, the company plans on deorbiting both prototype satellites for disposal, allowing them to burn up in Earth’s atmosphere. In the coming months, Amazon then plans on launching finalized Project Kuiper satellites into the planet’s orbit with the goal of establishing a space-based internet system spanning over 3,200 satellites.
