Former U.S. Soldiers Receiving Bills for Equipment Damaged During War

July 26th, 2007

In other news, announced by Rumsfeld on September 10, 2001, the Department of Defense is missing $2.3 trillion. I wonder if the people responsible for looting that inconceivable sum of money are getting collection notices in the mail.

Fascist regimes always eat their own. People who serve these governments are almost always ignorant of this basic characteristic of fascism. Anyone who works for the U.S. Government, or its contractors/mercenaries/etc. must read the classic, Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler (used copies starting at 1 cent).

Via: CBS:

Former Army Specialist Rodriguez started getting bills for $700 for lost or damaged government property this summer. Although he was discharged some four years ago, bills recently arrived demanding payment, but giving no details on what or why — nor do they offer a way to dispute the charges.

“For doing my job you’re going to bill me?” Rodriguez said.

And he’s not alone. A 2006 government report found more than 1,000 soldiers being billed a total of $1.5 million. And while fighting overseas put their lives on the line, this battle on paper could cost them their future by ruining their credit. Rodriguez will be reported to credit agencies next month.

  1. Ha! Funny, I just received a collection notice from TSA! They are claiming I was overpaid during the 11 weeks I worked there. Apparently, I owe the treasury $900 from 2002. A collection agency is handling the US Treasury’s account. linebarger goggan blair sampson llp was also awarded the IRS contract at the same time. Amazing that the same month TSA loses comprehensive personnel files on 100,000 employees (including sf86 files, bank account & routing info, etc.) that I end up with calls and letters from this FUCKING COLLECTION AGENCY!

Wonder WHO is sending the bills to Specialist Rodriguez?
Could it be the accounts receivable department at Halliburton HQ?
Disputes over government billing/contracting can be sent to the U.S. General Accounting Office for resolution.
Oh and please, don’t tell Comptroller David Walker we sent you.
He has been unusual in his forthright speech re the insolvent, bankrupt condition of the U.S. and will probably find a way to STOP THIS SHIT YESTERDAY.

Rumsfeld “declared war” on wasted military spending the day before the event that would prompt a massive increase in same as an Illuminati “wink” to conspiracy investigators.

It’s obvious, but it deserves emphasis.

Amazing isn’t it. I wonder if all the poor slobs from the Empires other shenanigans should expect a bill in the mail. Funny how the ones responsible for it all don’t seem to get these fiscal reminders in the mail.

I did a stint in the army, when I separated there was no office clerk to do my final inventory. Four years later. I get a bill for $2700, including an M-16 that I certainly never took home with me. The unit consolidated, moved to another part of the country and refused to deal with it. They took every dime of my tax returns for several years, they can do that. There is no money or personnel for bookkeeping, but there always seems to be plenty for auditing the accounts every decade or so.
