Japan’s Newest Popstar Outed as CGI Creation

June 29th, 2011

Via: Vigilant Citizen:

Aimi Eguchi, the latest star of the popular girl band AKB 48, told fans on her website that she was a normal 16-year-old from Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo who enjoyed track and field sports. Her cute features made her a fan favorite and quickly created a buzz.

Miss Eguchi blogged that her goal is “to become a new idol like never before by taking the best parts of my AKB big sisters”. This was true, but in a creepy-Frankenstein kind of way.

Turns out that Aimi Eguchi is in fact a composite CGI creation using the body parts of the other 7 band members.

Before everyone decries this as a sure sign of the End Times, take a moment to consider how much worse it could have been:

“…a composite creation using the body parts of the other 7 band members.”

my first thought was “how the hell would they put on a live show with her?” …but then i realized live shows are probably a dying breed of entertainment. especially for pop music. and in japan.

but heck, maybe they have hologram performances nowadays..?

Years ago I said they’d be able to analyze the playing techniques of great musicians (classical piano players, jazz players, progressive rock players) and quantify the results. Ultimately creating virtual musicians and the ability to create your own band. Bach, John Bonham, and Jimi for example.

When they let known the Ai, we’ll start hearing music we’ve never heard before. Just wait.

They have a projection medium, they don’t need a projection medium anymore:
