The Generation of ‘Damaged’ Girls

February 21st, 2007

Via: Telegraph:

A generation of very young girls is being psychologically damaged by inappropriate “sexy” clothing, toys and images in the media that are corrupting childhood, leading psychologists warn today.

They say marketing takes unfair advantage of children’s desire for affection and the need to conform, leading to eating disorders, low self-esteem and depression.

too sad all this. there is another aspect of this though, kind of related. I spoke to a doctor about two years ago maybe about the new fashion that is developping, with trousers beginning to sit low on the hips, shirts and pullover in general getting shorter and the wonder to see so many folks in winter that must be freezing. he told me back then already that from a medical perspective the future is gonna become a nightmare, with birth failure rates exploding and general infertility becoming a real topic, horrend numbers of women that have serious trouble with their kidneys and other such things. seems like apart from the psychological sideeffects the new ‘trend’ has upon our children, we are also producing a generation of physically damaged people.

lots of prices to pay for focusing on our societies beauty image during the first third of your life … but damn what a profit now and ahead.

not sure if this is real news but maybe interesting related to your post.

    best ones, souls
