Anti-war Democrats in the Senate failed in an attempt to cut off funds for the Iraq war on Wednesday, a lopsided bipartisan vote that masked growing impatience within both political parties over President Bush’s handling of the four-year conflict.

    Lopsided vote, hah. Now that’s a shock. I don’t think that any lawmaking re BEING AGAINST WAR will be the answer for the END of the bleeding and death in Iraq, Afghansitan, etc., etc, etc. Warmaking is in the DNA of the US – read our history. The dynamic duo of Bush and Cheney are just the fresh icing on top of the current steaming pile of yeasted ca-ca cake that the US political system is made of. While notable for how fantastically effed up they are, the Bush/Cheney gang is only a pair in a long line of US-leader-dunces that have not found a way to direct the energy of a national persona to an identity that strives for anything other than WAR or PROFIT.
