Doctors could soon be storing essential medical information under the skin of their patients, the American Medical Association says.

Devices the size of a grain of rice that are implanted with a needle could give emergency room doctors quick access to the records of chronically ill patients, the nation’s largest doctors group said in a report.

The association adopted a policy Monday stating that the devices can improve the “safety and efficiency of patient care” by helping to identify patients and enabling secure access to clinical information.

These radio frequency identification tags (RFIDs) are already used by Wal-Mart and other businesses to speed up their shipping systems by sending out small signals that can be scanned more easily than bar codes.

Implanting them in people “can improve the continuity and coordination of care with resulting reductions in adverse drug events and other medical errors,” said the report prepared by the association’s ethics committee.

Oh yeah, if Walmart uses them chips they must be good, right? The only thing is that they use them on products and not people!

I can see the benefits already:
    1. Why bother with security when the hospital entry system won’t even open the doors if their records indicate you are not covered by medical insurance?
    2. When you kick it they will also know if you can afford a funeral or do they simply throw your body in the rubbish…

Obviously, the folks who want to be able to track our every move are aware that it’s a sticky issue with resistance coming from many different quarters. I’d love to see the propaganda plan for this operation, of which I’m sure this AMA piece is a part. Of course, after “9/11 II”, things will be much simpler. You’ll have 2 choices: receive the chip voluntarily, or receive the chip involuntarily.

As a true Christian as opposed to “Churchian”, I can’t wait to see how the “rapture/7 year tribulation/mark of the Beast” crowd handles this issue. I guarantee it: most of these Churchians will take “the mark” (actually, they already have: the “mark” is what is written on their hearts…love of power, lies, strong delusion, and various anti-Christs). And their “Churches” will praise them for it!

One Generation Is All They Need
“By the time my four-year-old son is swathed in the soft flesh of old age, he will likely find it unremarkable that he and almost everyone he knows will be permanently implanted with a microchip. Automatically tracking his location in real time, it will connect him with databases monitoring and recording his smallest behavioural traits.”
